Show WARDS TO HAVE MOTION N PICTURES last evening a meeting of the city ward bishops and the stake social committee was held at the commercial club rooms tor for the purpose ot of hearing the report ot of the committee af pointed at the last meeting to investigate the cost of 0 projecting machines film service and place for showing the pictures in the report it was stated that machines like the ones used in the country service which Is being operated by many of 0 the motion picture men I 1 an be purchased tor for each and it was suggested that two machines would supply the needs ot of the city which would make it possible tor for two of 0 the wards to run a show the same night using the same films it was reported that a splendid film service can be obtained at the rate of approximately 10 per night and by using the same service two nights to show in all tour four wards the expense would be cut down to the minimum while every person in all the wards would would have an opportunity the pictures the price ot of admission would be placed at the minimum five and ten cents and in as much as the show would be operated by the church there would be no war tax only the very best films will be shown and a censor committee will be appointed to pass on the pictures before they are projected on the screen A number ot of the leading producers of 0 the state have communicated with he be local committee and asked the privilege ot of furnishing the service one firm agreeing to supply the very finest paramount productions at a cost that can easily be borne by the committee even when the pictures are shown at the prices named above the meeting was enthusiastic last evening but adjourned to a near date in the future before taking definite action in order to get further information on one or two points |
