Show HALLOWEEN. It Was Enjoyed Hugrely by a Happy Party of Vouny Folks at the Eosiuenca of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob P. Gatea Last .Evening'. .Even-ing'. One of the most enjoyable and pleasing pleas-ing receptions given in Provo for some time, was that tendered by Miss Mamie Gatea last evening, "Halloween." Notwithstanding the Inclemency of the weather there were some twenty guests present. That the young" lady is a perfect per-fect hostess was evidenced by the fact that every detail, from the gracious welcome accorded to the odd and unique un-ique decorations, and the excellence of the supper was beyond question. The parlor and hall were darkened and the Boft radiance and hideous expressions ex-pressions of Jack o'Lanterns made the surroundings most awe-inspiring. Game3 of different kinds and fancies applicable to "Halloween" were indulged in-dulged in, and with the roasting of chtstnnts, and the fortune telling of an impersonated Gypsy made a most pleasant evening, enjoyed by all. The guests present were: Mr, and Mrs.J. F.Gates, Mrs. Mary Gates, Miss Hales, Miss Etta Davis, Miss , oarne button, Miss Violate Elliott, Mis3 Kate Clawson of Salt Lake city, MissMaeser, Misses Nettie and Eya Maeaer, Miss Lillie Gates. Miss Lansing, Lan-sing, G. A Dusenberry, Dr. Jb'ickford, O. K. Aley, Dr. Noyes, J. O. Kelly, M. C. Davis, Joseph Jensen and A. Gates. |
