Show The' Sea Anemone. The sea anemone resembles in 6hape a morning glory. Its mouth opens like the cup of that flower, and above it are seen a number of tentacles waving in the water. Its food consists of anything it can get, but generally it gets the minute mi-nute insects that float in the sea. At any alarm it closes its cup and is then hardly hard-ly distinguishable from the rock on Which it is rooted. It has a set of sucker muscles that attach it so firmly to the rook that it will sometimes be torn in pieces rather than let go. |
