Efficient Committee on Reception and .Entertainment Appointed Coming From Springrville Every Evidence is That the Convention Will be a Brilliant and Rousing Success Democracy to the Fore. Democratic primaries were held in all tbe wards of Provo last evening and delegates to the convention to be held in the opera house on Saturday next were elected Other business was transacted. Below are the reports from the primaries pri-maries as gotten from the secretaries by Thb Dispatch: FIB8T WARD. Sam A. King was th airman; M. L. Pratt, secretary. The following delegates dele-gates were elected : Mrs. M. L. Pratt, A. O. Smoot, Mrs W. II. Berry, Major Berry, Mies Zina Beck, Thomas Beesley, Mrs. William Strong, Mrs. A. O. Smoot, Sam A. King, Mrs. Marilla Daniels, Chris. Johnson, Mrs. W. R. Pike, O H. Berg, Mrs. Sam A. King, M. L Pratt, Misa Hora Berg, Roger Farrer. Alternates Mieses Nora Beck, Sarah Douglas, Ruly Pike, Ettie Farrer, Florence Pike and T. E. Thurman. The following were elected to the committee on receptfon of visiting delegates: T. E. Snow, chairman of the democratic organization of this ward, being absent on account of sickness the primary was called to order by Joseph T. McEwan. On motion of S, R. Thurman Mr. McEwan was e!eRri chairman of the primary. John 8. Kollo was elected secretary. The call was read and the election of delegates was commenced. S, K. Thurman in reply said tLt the call pointedly specified that ladiea be elected and the primary was acting an der that call. The convention of Saturday Sat-urday is not even a nominating convention con-vention and its business will not be affected by tbe ruling of tbe courts as to the eligibility of women to vote at tbe November election, whatever that ruling may be. Mr. Beck expressed himself as satisfied satis-fied with the explanation. His object la raising the question was to have ihe explanation stated clearly before tbe primary as it had now been, that there might be no hesitancy upon the part of the voters present nominating women as delegates and voting for them. Douglas A. Swan remarked that the primary was a party meeting and any action it might take, or any action the convention may taue will be a party action and cannot be affected one way or the other by anv ruling of the court on the question of whether or no women wo-men may lawfully vote at the election in November next. The matter of electing persons to the committee on reception was overlooked, over-looked, Mr. A. V. Robison and Mrs. David Openshaw were appointed a committee to canvass the delegates elected before Saturday aid ascertain positively if they will be able to atteLd the convention and to report to the chairman ot the delegation the named of those who will not be able to attend that the alternates may be duly notified noti-fied so that on Saturday there will be no vacancies in the delegation. It is earnestly requested that the ladies la-dies and gentlemen elected to the reception re-ception committee, canvass their respective re-spective wards thoroughly and Le at the opera bouse on Saturday morning prepared to report who will entertain visiting delegates and bow many each will recieve. COMING FROM SPKINGNILLE. The democrats of Springville held a rousing meeting on Tuesday evening. The democratic society was reorganized, reorgan-ized, a vote of thanks was extended tbe retiring officers and the meeting adjourned with three rousing cheers.
