S. Senators. A meeting of the democratic territorial terri-torial committee was held ;n Salt Lake city on Monday, August 12, 1895, at which a call for a state convention was formulated as follows: A state convention of the democratic party ol Utah 'S hereby called to meet at the Grand Opera house, Oden city, on Thursday, toe 5th day of September, lS95.atll o'clock a. m., for the pui-puse pui-puse oi nominating a candidate for representative re-presentative to Use lifiy-Iourth congress, con-gress, and candidates lor the following state ofli'.'es, to-wit: Guvernor. Secrttary of state. State auditor. State treasurer. Attorney-general. Superintendent of public instruction. Three Judges of the supreme court. Also, the election ol a democratic state comuiittee.and the transaction of such other business as may properly come belore the convention. The convention shall consist of six hunired and fiftv .(6 0) delegates. Utah county is entitled to 88 dele gates. Conventions for tbe nomination oi candidates for district judgs-s shall be held on Saturday the 14ih day of September, Sep-tember, 1895, at 11 o'clock a. m. Fourth district, comprising Utah, Wasatch and Uintah counties, at Frcvo. Conventions in senatorial districts comprising more than one county, 6hall be held on Monday, the 23rd day of September, 18(J5, al 10 o'clock a. m. Utah county constitutes one senatorial sena-torial district. Convention will be he d at Buch time and place as the county committee will hereafter design nate by Call. Tne number of delegates from each county to the judicial and senatorial district conventions shall be the same as for the state convention. Tne county committees are requested to call conventions tor tbe election of delegates to the above named conventions conven-tions and for the nomination of can didates for mem berg of the state legislature, legis-lature, and for sucu county officers as may be elective thio year. The committee suggests that the people in tbeir county conventions and by their delegates in the state convention, conven-tion, consider tbe propriety of indicat ing their preference of persons to be selected by the legislature as senators from the state ol Utah. |
