The principal discussion at the meeting meet-ing of the democratic territorial central cent-ral committed held in Salt Lake yesterday yester-day (Monday) outside of strictly practical pract-ical campaign matters, came up over the proposition to nominate United States senators in the state convention. The resolution, the substance of which is embodied in the call of the committee, commit-tee, published elsewhere, was introduced intro-duced by H. V. Meloy and there was a great deal of talk over the expediency of the matter. There was a strong opposition op-position favoring the taking of no action whatever in the matter and there were a number of amendments and substitutes substi-tutes proposed. Tb contest derived its chief excitement from the fact that the committee was nearly equally di-vited di-vited on the subject and'it could not be told just which way the decision would turn. However, in the end, after the whole matter had been gone over.it was decided that it would D6 at least a good move to call the attention of the people to the subject and let them voice their opinion.
