Show Rosa Chirpillod, of Buffalo, Wyoming Wy-oming has written to the clerk of the district Court here asking for information informa-tion concerning the arrest, conviction and sentencing of her husband. The lady is desirous of obtaining a divoice. It will be remembered that Chirpillod skipped his bonds, went to California, became a Salvationist, was brought back, pleaded guilty of incest and was sentenced fortiis crime. Julius Hannberg appeared before Justice Wedgwood on Saturday evening even-ing to be tried for having sold whisky without a license. The doctor was not represented by an attorney but handled his own case. He admitted that he had sold Milt Jacques whisky formedi-cal formedi-cal LUrposes not as a beverage but purely as a medicine. Mr. Jacques testified to having bought the same for the purpose set forth by the doctor Marshal Knight had seen the doctor hand what appeared to be a bottle wrappjd in paper. The maishal thought it might be whisky and stepped into the store aud took the same from Milt's pocket. Sur9 enough it was whisky. The doctor has no license to sell liquor, and the city ordinance says intoxicating liquors shall not be sold by anybody who does not hold a license from the city giving him the right so to do it makes no distinction between selling it for medical purposes and eelling it as a beverage, A fine of $50.00 was imposed and a motion of appeal ap-peal given. This case will be made a test case to determine the question whether or no a druggist not licensed to sell liquor mav sell it as medicine in spite of the fact that the city ordinances ordin-ances read to the contrary. |
