The arrivals of immigrants from 1820 to 18'JO have reached 15,641, 5S8. Germany and Ireland are the countries sending the greatest number of emigrants. emi-grants. The only leading countries irom which arrivals have fallen off during dur-ing the past ten years are France and j China. The year of the largest emigra- j tion yet reported is that ended June 30, i 1891, when the arrivals were 788.W2. The immigration from Italy was 15,401 j for the fiscal year 1831. and" has steadily J increased until 18'JO, w lien it was 52,000, and the present year ending June 30, 1891, when the total for the six months reached 51,153, as against 34,310 for corresponding cor-responding months of 1S80. Of the arrivals ar-rivals during the ten years from 1881 to 1890,61.1 per c-nt. "were males. The greatest proportion of females came from Ireland. The smallest per cent, are females from Italy and Hungary. The classification of the character of immigration during the last decade shows that only 26,257 males were of the professional classes, 514,552 skilled laborers, 1,83.5,325 of miscellaneous occupations; oc-cupations; 73,327 made no statcmenfs in regard to occupation, and 759,540 were without occupation. Of 2,040,702 females, 1,724,454 were without occupation. occupa-tion. Utah Day at the World's Fair. Chicago, July 1. World's Fair Commissioner Com-missioner Lannon will shortly submit his plan to the people of Utah. During Dur-ing the exposition each state will have a day set apart for it. Commissioner Lannon proposes that the 24th of July shall be Utah's day, and his plan is to bring on a fine chorus from Utah to give a grand entertainment. There will be other features, but this w ill be the principal one. This plan has not yet been made public. The Rothschilds to be Sued. St. Petersburg, July 1.
