Howe of the firm of Howe & Tatt, last evening shortly after 6 o'clo k. The little fellow was up in a tree playing, and got too far out on the limbs, elipped and fell to the ground, a distance dis-tance at least twenty feet. He fell upon a picket fense. One picket struck his left leg, tearing his trousers, ; scraped the flesh from his ribs and passed on up on the left side of his neck, entered under his chin and passed through, cutting a fearful gash, lascerating the roots of the tongue and the palate, and breaking the roof of the mouth. The little iellow bled inwardly, in-wardly, and last evening hopes for his recovery were only slight. Today he can talk some, and the physicians are very much encouraged. It was necessary neces-sary to place fifteen stitches in the wound in the boy's breast and twelve in the wound in the neck. The accident acci-dent occurred on the south side of the courthouse square .almost directly di-rectly opposite the fire department building.
