Show Thursday, November 17, 2011 Society Missionary Farewell Elder Cory Childs Elder Cory Childs has been called to serve in the Georgia Atlanta North Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Cory is the son of Robert and Suzanne Childs of Gunnison, and the grandson of Jay and Janet Childs of Gunnison, Barbara McNulty of Centerfield, and Larry and Marci Gressmen of Mesquite, Nevada. Cory will be speaking during Sacrament meeting on November 20, 2011 at 1 p.m. at the Gunnison Stake Center located at 80 West Center, Gunnison. Serving a mission has been a lifetime goal of Cory, The Gunnison Valley Gazette Page 3 Gunnison Valley High School Presents AARP Driver Safety Program Les Miserables AARP is sponsoring a Safety-Driving course for older adults (50+) on Friday November 18. The Manti Senior Center is host. Volunteers, Bill and Bridget Funk of manti will teach the four-hour course. Hours are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a break for lunch. The cost is minimal, $12 for AARP members and $14 for nonmembers. The fees are for materials for attendees. There are no exams. Completion of the course can reduce your car insurance by as much as 5%-10%. A 20% reduction in senior driver accidents nation-wide has been attributed to completion of this course.
