Show Volume XXX Issue VII The Ogden Valley News Page 5 November 15, 2023 This Christmas, Adopt a Tree in Huntsville Square! Huntsville residents Carol and Cathy Stoker are preparing for the second annual Adopt a Tree for Christmas! They need your help as they hope to expand the decorations to include the town offices and history building. Families and friends can adopt a tree or town building in Huntsville’s town square, then decorate it for the holidays as a means of bringing additional joy and sparkle to fill this year’s winter air. To share the Christmas spirit and make the season bright, please volunteer to help in this effort, or donate funds to purchase and hang Christmas lights! Please help make this happen soon by contacting Carol or Cathy Stoker to see how you can help. You may contact them at 801-7104588 or 801-745-3721. More importantly, they could use some help installing and hanging the lights and decoration. Many thanks for your support! Community Foundation of Ogden Valley Now Looking for New Board Members! Community Foundation of Ogden Valley (CFOV) is an organization of volunteers who work together to bring awareness to and raise funds for nonprofit organizations (NPOs) that function in Ogden Valley. Simply put, we are a nonprofit helping other nonprofits. The CFOV board is made up of volunteers from all corners of the valley. Meetings are held once a month and last from 60 to 90 minutes. Board members work as a team to complete our mission so that no single Board member is overwhelmed. In 2023, CFOV hosted Music on the Patio in June, had a float in the Huntsville Fourth of July parade, sponsored the Second Annual Family Farm Festival in September, and helped the Red Cross with several local blood drives. In years past, we’ve also participated in a community cleanup day, Apres Ski events, and a local fun run. Please consider joining us if you: • Enjoy event planning. • Are a long-time resident who now has time to volunteer. • Are a new resident looking to meet great people from the community. • Have marketing or social media skills. • Want to help ensure that Ogden Valley remains a strong community as it grows. If you are interested in becoming a board member, please contact Beth Mannino at 773425-6306. You are also welcome to visit our website at cfov.net to learn more about CFOV and the community nonprofits we serve. Ogden’s Christmas Village Opens November 25 Come join us for the opening event of Ogden’s Christmas Village on Saturday, November 25 at Ogden’s Municipal Gardens Park. A Huntsville Town representative stated, “Our new building [the new town hall] will have a space for displays and a history center. We would love to display these artifacts.” Unfortunately, the message to the town did not include the name of the individual who has the coins, and there was no way to reply to their message. They are now looking for the person who submitted the message. “Please try to message us again and leave a name and contact number. You may also call our office at 801-745-3420.” Mountain Arts and Music Activities During the Holidays Mountain Arts and Music is partnering with Greenhaus Art Co in Huntsville to highlight Ogden Valley artists in two events during the holiday season.
