She returned to her Father in Heaven and loved ones late July 3, 2023. She returned peaceMargo Shaw fully, surrounded by family as we all reminisced about the happy times we have had together. She attended her Marriott family reunion on Saturday, and then spent Sunday evening at the Shaw campground surrounded by her family that she loved. She was still asking how everyone was doing and how their day went just hours before she died. She spent her life being involved with all that she knew, and she loved making connections with people. She was born July 9, 1936 in Ogden, Utah to Gilbert Enos Marriott and Helen Alvaretta Smirl. She was the oldest daughter of ten children. At thirteen years of age, her father was involved in a severe automobile accident that left him in the hospital for six months. She took responsibility in helping raise her younger brothers and sisters while her mother worked full time and took care of her father. She lived life to the fullest and enjoyed being with her family. She graduated from Weber High School where she was the Student Body Vice President and was involved in orchestra, music, and loved watching sports. She met the love her life, Don, and her first date with him was attending the “Little Brown Jug” game watching her older brother play. Don graduated from Weber High three years earlier and she loved watching him play sports in college. She spent many years watching her children and grandchildren participate in sporting events. She married March 18, 1954 in the Salt Lake Temple. She was a senior in high school, and they then moved to Liberty, Utah where she caught the bus each day and finished high school. Don was drafted into the army, and they lived in Garden Grove, California for a short time before he was transferred to Puerto Rico. She joined him shortly after her first child was born and lived in Puerto Rico for 18 months. She lived the last 60 years in Liberty, Utah. She had six children in seven years and spent all her time raising her little family. Those that worked with her loved how she could meet the needs of difficult students and did it with “class.” They also said that she knew half of the people in Ogden, and she is related to the other half. She loves the gospel of Jesus Christ and spent her life serving in many capacities. She loved serving in Relief Society, Young Women’s, Primary, and Sunday School and loved the people she served. She was able to serve two missions with her favorite companion. She served in the Calgary Canada mission and as a temple missionary in the Nauvoo temple. She also served as a temple ordinance worker in the Ogden temple for nine years. She loved being a member of DUP and loved attending her group in the valley for many years. She had many medical trials in her life and met them head on with the attitude that, “This is not going to slow me down.” We have loved seeing the grit and determination she has and doing the best with what she was given. Her family meant everything to her, and she knew each one by name and made sure each one received a card each year on their birthday.
