Bryn Boogert By William Shelton and Kyrie Carpenter, MMHS Bryn Boogert is a senior at Maple Mountain High School and is one of the student's of the month for the month of March. Bryn was nominated by her teachers Mr. Cory Mendenhall and Mrs. Sherrie Dunford. Music is her passion and she is involved in many different music classes at Maple Mountain High. She enjoys playing the cello, singing, playing the piano, listening to music and reading. As one can see Bryn is a huge fan of music, so much in fact, that after high school she plans on attending college and obtaining a degree in cello performance. After college she hopes to be able to teach cello lessons. Her favorite quote is "More important than where you've been is where you are, and more important than where you are going." Chelsey Burns By Jordan Osborne and Jacob Henry, MMHS Chelsey Burns was se- lected by Mrs. Kathryn Crandall to be one of Maple Mountain's students of the month. Some of Chelsey's favorite hobbies include playing softball, hanging out with friends, boating with her family and going to Disneyland. Chelsey sees herself being a registered nurse and married to a wonderful person in the future. Chelsey has a 4.0 GPA and some of her favorite school subjects are science and medical classes because she aspires to be a nurse someday and finds these studies fun and interesting. Chelsey's favorite quote is "Live in the moment, because every second you spend angry or upset is a second of happiness you can never get back." This reminds her to always be happy and not get upset at little things. Tori Nielsen By Cameron Spilker and Keaton Atkinson, MMHS Tori Nielsen, junior, is one of MMHS' students of the month for March. Tori was nominated by her English teacher, Mr. Johnny Averett. Tori's favorite quote is, "Friends are made in the moments you say 'Me too'. 1 ' She really likes this quote because she makes friends easily. Some of her favorite hobbies are playing softball, reading and being with her friends and family. Her favorite part of summer is going on family vacations, especially to her family's cabin. Having a 4.0 GPA, enjoying working out, and running with her Dad keeps her different from everyone else. If Tori could have a conversation with anyone from history it would be Anne Frank. She would talk about what scared Anne most during the holocaust and how she kept hope. Tori likes all of her classes in school, but she loves P.E. and Math the most. "After my other classes, it's nice to be able to work out and not really have to think," said Tori about her P.E. class. In five years Tori sees herself graduating from college, working and coaching softball. Zachary Fraser By Marshall Levi and Jessika Hilton, MMHS Zach was nominated by his science teacher, Mr. Cory Green. Zach's favor- ite quote is by Eric Liddel, "In the dust of defeat, as well as the laurels of victory, there is glory to be found if one has done his best." This quote inspires Zach to always try to do his best. When asked what makes him different than others, he responded, "I like running. Enough said." Zach said if he could have a conversation with anyone in history he would ask Eric Liddel how did he gather the courage to live his standards even though it probably cost him and England a gold medal. It's no surprise that his favorite subject is biology. Zach exclaimed, "Biology is awesome!" In five years, he sees himself training for the 2016 Olympic decathlon. His favorite hobbies include track and field and cross country. Clark Stephens By Sarah Blancher and Marissa Clegg, MMHS Clark Stephens is just one of MMHS students of the month for March. Clark was nominated by his social science teacher, Ms. Carolyn Swenson. His hobbies include reading, drawing, writing, taking pictures and going on different trips. He wants to pursue a career as an industrial engineer. Clark has a 4.0 GPA and his favorite subject in school is science. He says, "It happens all around us, every second of every day. It's cool to find out why stuff works the way it does." Clark's favorite quote is: "Those who do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat it." And also: "Smart people learn from mistakes, wise people learn from others mistakes." When asked why he liked these quotes, he says "I love learning about history and seeing how you can improve with what mistakes I make myself." He would like to see himself in five years as being married and living in a small home here in Utah. In addition, he wants to drive a car that runs off self-generated hydrogen. If he could have any conversation with anyone in history it would be Edwin Hubble. Clark would ask him, "How did you come up with the theo- ry of Red Shift?" Joshua Nelson By Kierra Larsen and Marissa Clegg, MMHS Joshua Nelson, senior, is one of Maple Mountain High School's March students of the month. Joshua was nominated student of the month by Mrs. Mindy Hammond. Joshua enjoys long boarding, running and playing guitar. He is very interested in instrumental music. His favorite subject in school is photography. Joshua says, "I like the freedom I have in my assignments." One of Joshua's funniest moments was when his sister made cookies for him, but they accidently absorbed the scent dispenser from an Airwick Plug-in. He didn't want to make her feel bad, so he choked them down trying to keep a straight face and acted like he was enjoying them. In five years he sees himself returning from a mission, going to college at BYU Idaho and married. Joshua's favorite quote is, "If you're not getting older, you're dead."
