Protected by the sun in the shade of the tent, children could come enjoy crafts such as paper-bag puppets and pinwheels. There was also a prizewalk and other activities that were sponsored by visiting organizations. Namon Bills / The Sentinel Legos Display What would a fair be without a carnival? Midway West Carnival was back in town for the duration of the fair, Aug. 12-15. This year the carnival offered a Reading for Rides program. Kids who read at least three books could get three carnival rides for free. To the delight of children and adults alike, a variety of Lego creations were on display in the open class building. Displays included scenes such as the Taj Mahal, a smoking volcano, a train track system with Lego locomotives, a carnival and a large Lego man constructed of small individual Legos.
