Quick start for SF soccer Brian Holt STAFF WRITER ,o_' Led by six returning seniors- the Lady Dons soccer team is preparing for region play. Tryouts started Aug. 3, 2009 followed by two-a-day practices and pre-season games with Manti andTooele. To get ready for the season many of the girls practiced on their own and played games with girls from Salem and Payson. Returning senior Kaylee Beckstrom said the practices have been valuable." "We do lots of drills, technique, and a lot of conditioning," she said. Practices have also been fun. "We are already great friends on and off the field," said Candace "CJ" DeLeo. Coach Dennis Gillie stated that "two-thirds of the team is new. They are great athletics and are very teachable; they just need more experience. After a few games they will better understand the level of work and effort required to compete at this level."
