Chautauqua representative, Steve Roberts, has reported that the forensics element for this forum has chosen not to participate due to on-going questioning concerning the verification of testing of the “Everett Ruess” remains. However, the other listed speakers will discuss relevant elements of the Ruess dilemma in the Festival Plaza on Friday morning. A change in the Speakers’ agenda has been necessitated with the cancellation by Michael Carroll of “Mars in Escalante...”. However, committee chairman, Brigitte Delthony has arranged for his replacement by BYU Professor John Telford, a Utah native who has been making photographs of the landscapes and environment for nearly forty years. BOBCATS ATOP REGION 20 HEAP WITH WIN AT VALLEY’S DEDICATION At Orderville Wednesday, the celebration of the dedication of Valley High’s new baseball facility, was dampened somewhat by Brooks Leach’s finest pitching performance of the season, as he hurled Panguitch to a 4 to 2 win, and the top spot in region 20. Leach threw 7 innings of 3 hit ball, allowing just 2 unearned runs, while racking up 9 Ks. Valley’s 2 runs came on a base hit and back to back errors. Brooks’ earned run average (ERA) for region play was lowered to a superb 1.68. Dexter Humphreys, who leads the Cats in just about every offensive category, continued his rampage with the bat with a double and triple and 1 RBI. Riley Miller chalked a 2 for 3 day with an RBI, while Cameron Fawson drove in 3 runs and had a double in 4 trips to the dish. Freshman Dallan Bennett batting in the nine hole came up with a pair of singles in three at bats, and a run scored. Panguitch has the bye this Friday, and will start their second half of the season hosting Escalante, Wednesday the 16th, at 3:00 pm. In other games, Piute downed Bryce Valley 14 to 3, and Wayne racked up 7 runs in the 6th inning to down Milford 13 to 5.
