COSTING VISITORS TO £RYCE CANYON SINCE 1916 BY PAT DIX BOBCAT BOYS RESUME WINNING WAYS Tuesday the Bobcats returned to Richfield's Sevier Center to clash with the Waterford Eagles. Cameron Leach pumped in 15 and Josh Bateman 12 in the 53 to 43 victory. Cameron Leach swept the boards, pulling down 11 rebounds. Thursday Panguitch played host to the Bryce Valley Mustangs and recorded their first Region 15 win, 85 to 59. Josh Bateman had a career night with 29 points. Brady Barney chipped in with 15 and Cameron Leach turned in a "triple-double" with 14 points, 20 rebounds, and 10 assists. Saturday's win over Parowan was not as close as the final score of 71 to 56 would seem to indicate, as three Cats scored in double figures. Brady Barney led with 21, followed by Cameron Leach's 19, and Josh Bateman's 12. In all of the three games this week it seemed that there were periods when the Cat's play, both offensively and defensively, would start to get a little ragged. It was at that point that the Bobcat's fine point guard, T^ler Pollock, would step up and by his example become the catalyst that would get his mates back on track. Panguitch now stands at 1 and 0 in Region play and 5 and 2 overall. They will host Piute on the 22nd and then have a moratorium until the Annual Sophomore Toumey an the 29 and 30th. LADY BOBCATS CHALK UP A 2 AND 1 WEEK The Lady Bobcats bearded'the Wolves of Enterprise High in their den Tuesday, and turned in their best defensive game of the young season, limiting Enterprise to just 28 points in a 38 to 28 victory. Hailey Orton once more led the scoring with 16 and Krystal Taylor chipped in with 10. Wednesday the Cats journied to Escalante and jumped out toa31 to II half time lead. With Hailey Orton and Krystal Taylor leading the way with 25 and 11 points respectively, Panguitch racked up a 58 to 31 region win. Lacy Rosser's solid game was the defensive standout of the contest. The Lady Bobcats hosted highly ranked Piute Friday and put out a great defensive effort against the taller and more experienced T-Birds. With a minute left in regulation, the Cats had trimmed the Piute lead to 4 i to 39 but could not get any closer as the T-Birds scored on a 3 point play to ice the 44 to 39 victory. In a game where the defense really shone, it was Kelsie Barton's play that led the way. Scoring wise, it was once more Hailey Orton's 25 and Krystal Taylor's 11 that paced the Cats. Panguitch travels to Valley on the 19th and then will be idle until the Annual Panguitch Sophomore Christmas Tournament on the 29th and 30th.
