Spencer ~ Humphrey Brittany Nichole Spencer & Bodie Jack Humphrey have chosen Saturday, June 10, 2006 as the day they will begin their lives together. The pleasure of your company is requested at a reception held in their honor that evening from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the Escalante Community Center. Parents of the Bride, Charlene Haycock and Bradley Spencer. Parents of the Groom, Debbie Degn and Charles Humphrey. Dear Vi: When our children ask questions about technical things such as clouds, lightning, prehistoric animals, electricity, computers and all the things their curious little minds can wonder about, we head for the children's department at the public library. The books written especially for children we find there explain things in language even very young children can understand. This makes it so much easier for us as parents to satisfy their curiosity. Our high school and college children find these easily-understood explanations very helpful in writing their school reports. It's so satisfying to get a simple explanation before advancing to higher levels.. Ida and Dave Sanders, Las Vegas Dear Vi: I use strong, water resistant paper towels in the kitchen even though they cost more than the flimsy ones> I find that I can rinse them out and when they are dry use them again; I also save used paper napkins that aren't very dirty to use for wiping up spills and for cleaning my easel and brushes when I paint. You'll be glad you did when it's time to clean-up the kitchen. • Add a gourmet flavor to a roast by rubbing it with a past of equal parts of salt and garlic. • For a subtle lemon flavor in sauce, stir it with a fork with a wedge of lemon on it. • Instead of opening the dishwasher to put in one or two items, stack the dishes and put them in all at once. • To keep fragile chains and necklaces from tangling in a drawer or chest, thread them through a drinking straw then hook the clasp. • If you live where you don't have outside clothes lines, keep a four-tiered skirt hanger in the laundry room for drying special items. On sunny days hang it outside and your clothes will get that wonderful fresh-air smell. Also hang one on the back door for drying gloves, galoshes, and mittens during the winter, or in summer swim-suits and towels.
