Since then, I enjoy spending an hour or so occasionally trying on different combinations. It's fun to come up with a new outfit using things you already have, especially when you feel like you shouldn't wear the same outfit to work twice in the same week lone Pratt, Las Vegas, Nevada Dear Vi: Wefindthat paint brushes clean up better if you soak them in lacquer thinner overnight then in a commercial brush cleaner. Finish by washing them in soapy water. We've also learned that rhubarb juice will remove many stains, even walnut stains, from the hands. If you don't have rhubarb, try lemon juice. It usually works quite well. Do you know how to prevent wrinkle lines in table, linens? They are always there regardless of how carefully I fold them. I've even tried putting tissue paper between the folds, but I still have to get the iron and ironing board out every time I use a tablecloth for a company dinner. Delia R., St. George, Utah Perhaps you should do as I do—postpone ironing the tablecloth until you are ready to use it. Launder it before you put it away, of course, then the day you plan to use it you can iron it and put it on the table without folding it again. .Or you can iust ignore the crease lines. They probably won't be noticeable after you put the centerpiece, sugar bowl, salt and pepper shakers, decorations, etc. on the table. Dear Vi: Instead of getting out the vacuum attachments to clean the corners and edges of the carpet, 11 use an old toothbrush. I do the cleaning at our house and I probably wouldn't worry about such details if my wife weren't so UftfiblMftll.lftinwtft.IiK 435-676-8842 (Mon - Fri) 435-826-8545 (Mon., Wed,, Fri.) 435-679-8545 (Tues. & Thurs.) 435-577-2958 (Tues. & Thurs.) 435-648-2108 (Wed.) 435-676-1243 435-676-1267 ; 435-676-1265 1-888-BRACEME fussy. Anything to please. Loretta's Hubby I hear you I can't blame you, either. I'm running into more and more men these days who have to take over the household duties. Most of them seem to do a great job of it, too. A friend of mine says her husband does a better job than she ever did. When I lived in a big old house, I used a damp sponge to clean the stair carpeting. It's lots easier than dragging the vacuum and attachments around. Dear Vi: Many of my family members and friends, knowing that my eyesight is bad, supply me with return address labels. I really appreciate this. Their thoughtfulness makes paying-bills and keeping up with my correspondence so much easier. After each use, I wash my pull-out breadboards with a soft scrubber and mild detergent and put them out in the bright sun to dry. If it's a cloudy day, I put them outside anyway. This keeps them looking brand new. Verna D. Cedar City, Utah To simplify meal planning, color code your recipes by using a card of a different color for each category—white for regular recipes, yellow for microwave recipes, pink for desserts for diabetics, etc. THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: You can be bigger than anything that happens to you. All the things—sorrow, misfortune, and suffering are outside your door. You are in the house and you hold the key. Readers: This is your feature.
