Many consumers have been forced to pay out of pocket for expenses illegally incurred in their name with the average victim of Fraud or Identity Theft in 2004 paying out over $1,800. The FTC encourages, among other things. Americans to be stingy in giving out their Social Security Numbers. Utah ranks 14th in the nation for number of Identity Theft victims per capita. UVSC students are encouraged to learn their student ID numbers with UVSC's new UV Link registration system, which replaced the old On Access system. Students can then identify themselves around campus by their stu- dent ID numbers rather than risking repeated disclosure of their Social Security Number. Construction is not yet complete but One Stop is already up and running in its temporary location within the Administration Building. "It's been very difficult with all the construction," Childs said, "because we're still out in the hallway. We've been there four months which is about twice as long as we were hoping, but we're just doing the best we can do out there." The idea for UVSC's One Stop was apparently President Sederburg's, inspired by a similar type of umbrella office created to meet student needs at the University of his previous Presidential post, Ferris State. 00 *Salt Lake City International Jazz Festival, If a.m., Washington Square. As this is a revamped way of awarding scholarships, and is still new and in process, it is also possible that further developments are yet to take place. "Not everything is completely set in stone, and there may still be some changes needed," Morgan said. The changes in UVSCV scholarship policy are effective this fall. Put on your dancing shoes and get a degree From DANCE • A l and their interests have broadened. They are more interested in the theory and research of dance. The dance major is for students who want to pursue dance as a professional career. I think it is an incredible degree. I think it's the kind of degree where students will be able to find their own niche and be able to be more productive, creative thinkers wherever they go." Freshman George Rivera said, "I am excited because I thought I would have to go to BYU and I never wanted to go there. I am leaning toward a dance major but I am still undecided. With this major I could stay at UVSC and not have to change schools." Shelby Everingham, a freshman elementary education major with a dance minor said, "I think the four-year degree is awesome. A lot of people can't do ballroom dance as their major unless they go to a major university such as BYU."
