A great. mouster meeting of the couservative. mew of the State, of all t¢ : parties, Lies, opposed opposed to Repablicanisin, met at Cooper's Iustitate,. last week, with « view of forming one electoral ticket, compsed Breckinridge . and of the wren. So far, the greatest. enthusiasm ‘prevails; ‘and it is asserted on all lands that Lincoln will be beat in that State. Should Lin- coln lose New York, his. chance for the Presideacy is shim, as the election would go to the House of Representatives, where ia all probability Betl would get the election. A similar effort is being made in Peou- sylvania, with @ prospect of success. Ltinois, it is expected, will cast her. vote for Douglas. A Uuion ticket, simi- lar to New York, is being run in. New Jersey. All the free States, with these exoep tions, wi go for Lincoln without doubt. The Cotton States will go for Breckinridge, while Kentucky, Tennessee, Nerth Carolina, Maryland, and Missoari, will, owing to the divisions of the Demeocracy, go for Bell. -Mark what I say. . ¢ St. Louis Republican, of yesterday, says, in their fiuancial article: “It is difficult to keep out of _ priuts allusions te ramors, aow of sev days staudiug, relative to the embarrasie ments of a-heavy transportation Girm enguged in the freighiing business to Utah. wid Pike’s Peak, and in the California Pony Express eaterprise.
