Show Volume XXIX Issue XIV The Ogden Valley News Page 5 June 1, 2022 Live Music on the Patio at Wolf Creek: Free Mountain Arts & Music Launches summer Community concert hosted by CFOV Clubhouse & MAM Summer Events Foundation located of Ogden Valley (CFOV) and Mountain Arts & Music invite you to join them for a free outdoor music event, “Music on the Patio at Wolf Creek,” Wednesday, June 15. Live music featuring Raven Spirit and Craig Shriber and Southfork Band will rock the patio from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Wolf Creek at 3873 N. Wolf Creek Dr. in Eden. Dust off your dancing shoes and come enjoy the live music. In addition to great music, drinks and dinner will also be available for purchase. Spend the morning hiking, biking, or on the reservoir, then come and enjoy an evening listening to free live music in the mountains. For more information, please visit cfov.net. Join Us for a Bird Walk at Winter’s Grove Wasatch Audubon Society will lead a bird walk in Huntsville along the Winter’s Grove Nature Trail and Jefferson Hunt Campground at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 11. This area is busy with birds in the spring and summer. Possible sightings could include yellow warblers, black-headed grosbeaks, song sparrows, gray catbirds, and cedar waxwings. Over 125 species have been seen at this location. New birders are welcome. Come and learn about the Valley’s birds. Bring binoculars if you have them, wear comfortable shoes, and dress for the weather. A few pair of binoculars will be available for loan, and a bird list will be provided. See you June 11! Free National Trails Day Celebration Event atNational North Fork Park, June 4 Trails Day is the public. We will be in the Old Bowery area an effort that was started by the American Hiking Society 30 years ago. It is celebrated each year on the first Saturday in June. Trails Foundation of Northern Utah would like to invite you to celebrate with us! This nationwide day of celebration, service, and education is an opportunity for all to create community and connect with people in our area who share our love of being outside. This widespread movement encourages all to give back to the trails that we love and make sure everyone can enjoy being outdoors. Celebrate with the Trails Foundation of Northern Utah and our many partners at North Fork Park in Eden, Saturday, June 4 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to celebrate the trails we all love so much. We will have Trail Shoe Demos, A Leave No Trace for All Trail Users presentation, intermediate guided mountain bike ride, equestrians, trail work demonstrations, volunteer opportunities, vendors, prize raffles, and more! This is a family-friendly event that is free to Mountain Arts & Music’s summer series begins on Thursday evenings with Open Arts and Music in beautiful Huntsville Square. Our first event is slated for June 30 (thru September 1), starting at 6:00 p.m. and continuing ‘til dusk. This is an evening where you can try your hand at watercolor painting under the guidance of professional art instructors, get up on stage and play music, recite poetry, or tell a story at the OPEN MIC, and let your kids do an art project all on their own at the kids’ art station. Huntsville Square (behind Huntsville BBQ) is a beautiful, shaded space and a lovely place to spend the evening on your own or with friends or family. It is your opportunity to take some time to CREATE! Calling All Artists - The Mountain Arts and Music Festival will be held in Huntsville Square Monday, July 4 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. We invite artists to apply to display and sell their original fine art and high-quality handmade artwork. In addition to art vendors, the festival will have live music throughout the day; Christopher Haaser, international award-winning juggler at noon; and an extraordinary art display of local Ogden Valley Artists. Food trucks will also be available, as well as the IDK BBQ and the Lovin’Cup Café. Come enjoy the July 4 parade in Huntsville and a great festival of art and music! Two Weber High Seniors Receive Resiliency Award Live Hannah’s Hope is ers noted on the Live Hannah’s Hope website pleased to announce that two Weber High Seniors were awarded the Hannah Warburton Resilience Award for the year 2022—Ioana Skipps and Aubry Staker. Every year, Live Hannah’s Hope, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, receives many applications from seniors across Utah. Utah seniors are invited to share their stories of resilience in hopes of receiving a $500 cash award. The only requirement is that they have graduated in spite of challenging circumstances. Sharing their story of resilience is required. These stories and oth- so anyone who needs a little hope can find it in these stories. You can find all the stories at livehannahshope.org/survival-stories/. Laura Warburton, who is the founder of Live Hannah’s Hope, stated, “This year, Ms. Ioana Skipps and Aubry Staker were awarded. They are beautiful young ladies with powerful stories of resilience and determination.” Warburton founded the nonprofit in 2015 after losing her daughter Hannah to suicide. The Richard S.
