Show 4 Will Celebrate Eightieth Birthday Vera Davedu Christensen Erickson will celebrate her 80th birthday anniversary on Saturday, June 14. She was born to Andrew and Mary Pehrson Christensen June 14, 1895 in Ephraim, the eldest of eight children, two of whom were bovs. She attended schools in Ephraim, graduated from Snow College and taught school in Chester and Ephraim until her marriage. She married Evan C. Erickson May 25, 1917 in the Manti LDS Temple. He died November 12, 1971. They have three sons, Keith (deceased), Robert A., Salt Lake City, and Clair, Ephraim. She has eight grandchildren and four foster grandchildren. She, and her late husband, celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary in May 1967. Her life has been one of service and worthwhile building she was a for missionary on Temple Hill ten vears. She has always been an avid reader and student and has been active in political, civic, and social affairs. She was a charter member of the Junior Literary Club and of Camp Fort Fphraim DUP and served two terms as president oi each organization. She is a past president of the PTA and was presented a life membership pin. She was a library boaid member for 25 years. She has made more quilts than she can recall, and is now frequently called upon to complete a quilt with her expert binding technique. She and her husband were reknow ned for the hospitality in their home, and for their consideration for others, often delivering meals or some delectable dish to some one In times of sorrow oi in times of rejoicing Mis. Enckson was usually the first person to offer condolences or congratulations according to the situation. Vera C. Frickson is a hung example of compliance with the to love ones admonition neighbor as ones self, and in return is loved by all who know ac- complishments. She served for 15 years on the Relief Society stake board, 22 ol these as piesident. She w as the YWMIA pi esident and counselor. Only last fall she was rtleased after serving almost 35 years as a visiting teacher. Mrs. Erickson and her husband taught the gospel doctrine Sunday School class for 10 years.
