Clara attended Manti school. She attended seminary (like a high school) for two years. She taught school a short while in mu Manti, Manaseh and one year in Centerfield. She lived in Salt Lake one year when her husband was speaker of the House of Representatives. While her husband was stake president she entertained many church authorities, also many business associates. She worked in all of the church organizations, stake and ward Relief Society and was Manti South Ward Relief Society president. She was a captain of Daughters of Utah Pioneers, a member of the library board and a Red Cross chairman. On July 1, 1941 she was set apart as matron of the Manti Temple where she served 16 years. Nearing 102 years old Mrs. Anderson lives in Manti. On Mothers Day the following tribute to Mrs. Anderson was written by her granddaughter, Mrs. Wilbur Braithwaite: CALL FOR BIDS Gunnison and Richfield O ORDER YOUR NEW BOISE CASCADE HOME TODAY AND WE WILL GIVE YOU ABSOLUTELY FREE! 00 Mothers Day, it is appropriate to pay tribute to my Clara Munk Anderson, who is now 102, for she has enriched the lives of her family and friends, and continues to do so today. As a child, 1 and my numerous young relatives loved to mansion, as it seemed to us. The explore house actually contained a treasure chest, stained glass windows, and a winding staircase. Likewise the yard was full of fascinating entiements such as a tree stump with over 100 rings. But no matter how quaint and lovely the home might be, a it is who is the life of the home, has made it what it is and whose spirit is an intergal part of everything. She has always reigned as a gueen in her home, and this she does today, mostly royally, in the hearts of her family. a is an amazing woman, there is no question about that, always willing to go the extra mile in order to help someone. For example. While at fish Lake, a overheard a downcast young couple front Salt Lake say that they had just lost a set of brand new fishing a tackle in the depths of Fish Lake. stepped right into the conversation and offered to fish the tackle up. Of course, the young couple were very skeptical of her ability to do this (they didnt know her very well) but she insisted so they pointed in the general direction of the missing tackle, a their address just in case she really and gave did fish it up. She did. home was also amazing. She tells us she cant remember of a cross word being spoken, and that whenever she needed a job done, she didn't give orders. The coal bucket, for instance, was merely set out, and the children would fill it without being asked. Now, thats amazing! a An avid reader, is always willing to share her knowledge of things with one and all.
