Show MANTI MESSENGER 8 Obituaries EPHRAIM ENTERPRISE Thursday, March 6, 1975 Farrel Funk Ephraim Man Studying Dentistry at use schools contract Utah students attending professional schools in other western states under a special ced-tuition plan coordinated by the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE), according to Dr. G. Homer Durham, one of the states three WICHE commissioners. Dr. Durham, commissioner of Higher Education, Board of Regents, said the 47 students are pursuing professional studies in dentistry and veterinary medicine. Also, according to Dr. Durham, 51 students from other western states are attending Utah universities under the same program. Mr. Funk was born Feb. 14, 1892 in Sterling, Utah to George Alfred and Amelia Funk. He received his schooling at Sterling and Manti High School. He was a dairybuilder, and man, farmer, raised poultry. His hobby was through WICHE to admit qualified students from states which have no professional schools in now redu- these fields. The Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education, which administers the exchange programs, is a public agency supported by the 13 western states. Its primary responsibilities are to help the states improve and expand their higher education through regional programs cooperation. Nielsen Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 26th at the Gunnison Stake Center, with Bishop Richard Kjar conducting. Ralph Christiansen A large number of Ephraim people were in Richfield last Thursday to attend funeral services for Ralph H. Christiansen, 70, who died Feb. 24, 1975 in a Sevier Valley hospital.
