Sorensen returned home last week from a three-wee- k visit with her husband, Willis, at his sheep camp on the west desert. 18-2- Nadine Allen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Allen, and her two roommates were here for the weekend. Nadines roommates are Lynn Tauley, Kansas City, Kansas and Jeanet Hudson, Melbourne, Florida. The three girls attend BYU. Return nutrients to the soil. At Mr. and Mrs. Averill Larsen left Manti before Christmas to visit with the Dan Spencer family in Spokane, Washington. Vera is their daughter. While there Averill became very ill and has been in the hospital for quite a long time. He had surgery, but is reported now to be improving slowly. Francis Bown and wife B. from Clearfield, Utah spent the past weekend visiting with his mother, Mrs. Francis Bown and sister, Wanda. Max Cox is hospitalized at the Utah Valley Hospital at Provo. He is reported to be slowly improving from pneumonia. He plans to return home this weekend for about ten days to convalesce at home. Then he will return to the hospital for surgery. Jan. 30, 31, Feb. 1 Roy Cox is seriously ill in the Gunnison Valley Hospital. Roy is the father of President Wilbur W. Cox and Mrs. Stanley Voorhees of Manti. On January 24th Mrs. Claude Maylett, Mrs. Laurence Nielson of Ephraim and Mr. and Mrs. Grant Dyreng were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Terry McFarland and Diane Rasmussen at their home in Provo honoring Kimbal Rasmussen of Sunnyvale, California prior to his entering the mission home. After dinner the Grant went on into Salt Lake City and spent the night with the J. R. Maxfields. On Saturday the family group was joined by Betty and Steven Dyreng and spent about two hours at the mission home with Kimbal. There were from 175 to 200 young missionaries entering the home that day. Kimbal is the son of Charles R. and Jean Dyreng Rasmussen and will go to the Central Mexico Mission after his study at the Language Training School at the BYU in Provo. They brought Elaines sister and husband, Joe and Alta Coleman, from Heber, back with them. Sunday the Highams took the visitors back to their home. Friday, January 17, the Janus Millers had two grandchildren here to visit. They were Ruby and Robert Nordmark, who are attending BYU. Recent guests at the Forest Washburn home were his brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Washburn from Salt Lake City. The visitors also visited with Mr. and Mrs. Janus Miller. Or-de- an Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Rowley, parents of Mrs. John Wintch, and Mrs. Bigelow, grandmother of Barbara, visited the Wintchs a day last week. The guests all live in Orem. Friday of last week, the Merrie Miss Class of the South had their Dates. The event was held at the South Ward church. Ward Primary F I Daddy-Daught- er The theme of the party was an old fashioned party. The girls and their fathers had their pictures taken on tandem bicycles and played games. The counselor in charge of the Merrie Miss girls is Arlene Smith and the class leaders are Janet Garbe and LaRae Simonsen. ed Sunday morning about 7:30 a.m. on January 19th, Denny Harmon accidentally fell on ice in the backyard of his home and broke his leg bone and dislocated his ankle. He was hospitalized in the Gunnison Valley Hospital until last Friday when he was released to continue his recuperating at home. Denny reports he is in less pain now and grateful that his injuries were not more severe. Because of the type of break in the bone he will have to use crutches for at least three months. January 27 there was a trace of snowfall.
