Show HILLTOP TIMES 10 T 'If' IMES Dec. 24, 2013 Regular Hilltop Times contributor, photographer retires BY MARY LOU GORNY Hilltop Times editor 0 n Dec. 18, at noon the foyer at the Boyer Hill Military Housing Office suddenly became very crowded. Linda Mooney, an employee who was over spare parts, and who managed the Yard of the Month program for the privatized housing contractor, was retiring after 34 years of service to military housing. For a number of years, Mooney has provided the photos to Hilltop Times for the yard contest, and she is a familiar face and voice to many who have been residents here. She came to the United States in 1978 with her three children as part of a divorce to a military member. She went to work the following year for the first private contractor in housing maintenance for Hill AFB, Adam II Limited. Six contractors later, she worked for Boyer Hill Military Housing and can't say enough about how customer oriented the latest contractor is, and how it treats residents like family. In March of last year she was diagnosed with COPD, hypoxia and asthma. Now, Mooney is delighted to have the opportunity to be available to her grandchildren, spend time with her husband, J.B. Scott Mooney, and for more travel opportunities. The well-attended dinner attracted many vendors, and co-workers. The always courteous worker with the English accent received many hugs, warm handshakes, and well wishes from those in attendance. NANCY TIPPETTS/Boyer Hill Military Housing Linda Mooney (second from right) poses with workers from Boyer Hill Military Housing at her retirement party on Dec. 18. For several years Mooney was the face of the Yard of the Month competition conducted by the BHMH. She provided the photos to the Hilltop Times and was often part of the selection process.
