The SODO has three principle functions. They are (1) the education of SMXG specific subject matter to further develop and enhance the existing pool of talent, (2) provide support for internal organizations through coaching, tutoring, mentoring and the providing of resources such as tools and templates, and (3) the dissemination of information through internal and external channels to develop a stronger organization with robust stakeholder relationships using written and verbal methods. Brent Baker Sr.: Thriving in Austere Times" to start off its 2013 Speaker Series. The Ogden Air Logistics Complex commander will address the pressing issues facing Team Hill's workforce today, at the Base Theater, Building 441, at 1:30 p.m. Baker will speak about the progression and results of the recent reorganization and the ongoing budget battle in the fiscally challenging environment. Corbin Bell, 517 SMXS/ MXDEB was selected as the AFMC 2013 Science, Engineering and Technical Management Science and Engineering Educator Award winner. This award cites his performance for outstanding work throughout 2012 in the education of the 309th Software Maintenance Group (SMXG)scientists and engineers through providing technical, leadership, process and emotional intelligence education in workshops and coaching sessions. Bell believes that he is helping them to form success oriented paradigms via the educational programs offered by his team. "How you view the world can make a big difference," he said. He will be replaced by Michael Gill Gill, currently executive director of the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center. 419th Fighter Wing staff report BY MARY LOU GORNY Hilltop Times editor T he Hiring Our Heroes workshop and job fair to be held at the Summit Hotel and Conference Center in Ogden, is another in a series sponsored by the Governor's Employment Coalition, similar to the one held in Salt Lake City recently. The Ogden event on Thesday, May 14, at 247 24th St., is for veteran job seekers, active duty military members, Guard and Reserve members and military spouses. Currently there are 49 employers and 125 participants signed up for the event, said Al Yardley, Utah Veterans Affairs program outreach director. S taff Sgt. Frederick C. Danneman, 419th Medical Squadron, was recently named Air Force Reserve Command's Airman of the Year and will represent the command at the Air Force's 2012 Outstanding Airmen of the Year competition later this year. "All nominees should be extremely proud of their many achievements and contributions associated with being nominated for these prestigious awards," said AFRC Commander Lt. Gen. James F. Carmen Madia will serve as the enlisted advisor to the commander on all issues regarding the welfare, readiness and morale of the wing's enlisted force. As the highest enlisted leader in the wing, he'll also provide direction for the enlisted force and represent their interests across Hill AFB and throughout the local community. Madia is a native of Chicago, Ill., and entered the Air Force in 1978. He has an extensive back- ground as an aircrew member in helicopter rescue and special operations and in all facets of intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance. While on active duty, Madia deployed in numerous U.S. and NATO-sponsored special operations missions. As a Reservist, Madia deployed in various staff positions supporting Desert Storm, Southern Watch, Pacific Warrior, Austere Challenge, Joint Guardian, Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
