Show 6 HILLTOP TIMES TIMES July 12, 2012 1-1- RETREAT Give kids a camp or day experience at Aerospace Museum T he Hill Aerospace Museum will feature an event with "Utah 4 Kids" Friday, July 13, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. There will be fun activities and free prizes to all those who participate. Come bring your camera and get some photos with the kids in astronaut and flight suits. There is no charge in connection with this event. The Hill Aerospace Museum "Aviation Camp" for kids 4th-6th grades will be taking registrations for its next camp scheduled for July 31 through Aug. 3 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This will include lots of hands-on activities (limit is 25 campers). Registration ends July 15 (camp fee is $25). GEORGE JOZENS/U.S. Air Force Nearly 50 military families gathered at Wolf Creek Resort for the Team Hill Air Expeditionary Force Family Resiliency Retreat held June 29-July 1. For the past seven years, the 75th Air Base Wing chaplains and the Wolf Creek Foundation have hosted the weekend retreats to offer a low cost family enrichment program at a scenic resort, with private lodging, outdoor activities, relationship-enrichment activities and food included. The retreat is intended to help families endure the challenges of military service and focuses on resiliency, reintegration, coping strategies and PTSD. Air Logistics Complex. • Maj. Gen. (Select) Howard Baker will assume command of the Ogden Air Logistics Complex. The re-designation as a complex is part of an effort by Hill AFB's parent organization, Air Force Materiel Command, to find efficiencies and save tax dollars by consolidating overhead and standardizing processes across the command. Bruce Litchfield, commander of the Air Force Sustainment Center at Tinker AFB, Okla., will re-designate the Ogden Air Logistics Center as the Ogden July 19-24 TIGHT Rod and Gun Club Seniors Shoot event The Hill Rod and Gun Club sponsored a Seniors Shoot on June 30 with 21 shooters participating in the 100 target event. The oldest shooter was Don Lacey at 86 and the youngest was Guy Cottem at 55. The Top Senior Gun was Dan Lawton with a score of 90 out of 100. For information about the Rod and Gun Club, please call 801-777-6767. Hill Air Force Base will continue, but without added layers of management. With the re-designation the complex will report to the Air Force Sustainment Center at Tinker AFB, Okla. The existing program offices at Hill AFB will be aligned to the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. The command-wide restructure is estimated to save $109 million annually.
