LLOYD/U.S. Air Force The most recent graduating class from the Community College of the Air Force took time to pose for a group photo on April 10 at The Landing, formerly known as Club Hill. The graduates have earned Associate Degrees in Applied Science through their Air Force training and additional college level courses. Matthew Shy 0 n May 1, Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Hill celebrated the surpassing of its BRAC goal of returning more than 500,000 square feet of covered storage space to the Air Force. A ceremony was held to recognize the achivement of the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure goals including completely vacating Buildings 830 and 840. William H. Budden, deputy commander of DLA Distribution thanks everyone for their participation in reaching a 2005 BRAC goal, lists some of those steps necessary to reach the goal and notes the higher efficiency and use of storage space. Certificates of appreciation, 31 all told, were awarded to members of 309th Maintenance Wing, 75th Air Base Wing, DLA members and DLA service provider URS members. Master Sgt. Michelle Corlett, Tech. Duane Kaiser, Airman 1st Class Carla Carlsen Gear Up for Fun with May fitness expo at the Warrior Center May 9 75th FSS/Marketing M ay is fitness month and in celebration Warrior Fitness Center will have its annual Spring Expo on Wednesday, May 9 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. This year's theme is Gear Up For Fun. There will be something for everyone to enjoy and all speeds of motion with a variety of health, wellness, fitness, recreation and education vendors onsite. Outdoor Recreation will have a large display of their available rental equipment, including tents, boats, bags and more. Local restaurants will distribute healthy food samples, the Health and Wellness Center kitchen will host healthy cooking demonstrations throughout the day and a large inflatable golf swing cage will be available for spring training. If your idea of fun is fast, there will be go carts or if you'd like to slow things down a bit maybe a chair massage is more your speed. There will be fitness demonstrations, prize drawings and more. The climbing wall will be in full action staffed by volunteers who will be available to spot climbers from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. These volunteers will teach knot tying and climbing techniques and supervise a speed climbing challenge at 1 p.m., awarding the winner with a prize. The Rock the Hill record time to beat is 17.5 seconds. A vertical climbing challenge will be held at 2 p.m. The Rock the Hill Vertical Challenge prize drawing will be held between 2 and 2:30 p.m. The Spring Expo will also kick off the Gear Up For Fun promotion developed by the 75th Force Support Squadron (FSS). This base wide promotion will introduce new and existing FSS services to the base population. Young Buick GMC/Wells Cargo is the presenting sponsor and will be supplying the grand prize worth over $16,000, a one year lease on a GMC truck and Wells Cargo trailer. Other sponsors include USAA, 1st Command Financial, University of Phoenix, Utah Valley University Aviation, Weber State University, Broadview University, Liberty Mutual Insurance, Utah Transit Authority, Top of Utah Military Affairs, ReMax, and DeVry University.
