The application is now completed online at: https://my.afas.org/memberportal/Login/ Login.aspx. The applicant must go to this website and register first before completing the application online. The applicant then submits the application to the selected base and then MUST call the Airman and Family Readiness Center at that base to schedule an appointment. Phase 2 for the Building 843 parking lot project (parking lot northwest through northeast of Building 843 and east of Building 843) will continue through May 27. The area of parking lot north of Building 843 and the last three driveways off 5th Street will be closed for reconstruction. The first two driveways off 5th Street and the driveway off "H" Avenue to the west entrance will remain open. Temporary parking will be set up in the parking lot east of Building 843 off "G" Avenue. Balmer Memorial Ruck March to be June 3 The fourth annual Balmer Memorial Ruck March will be held June 3 at the base track across the street from the Warrior Fitness Center. The event begins at 8 a.m. and will go for a total distance of 13 miles ending at the Hill Air Force Base Memorial Park. Participants are asked to carry a 35 pound Ruck Sack filled with canned goods for weight. Donate your canned goods at the park afterward. The event is in remembrance of Special Agent Ryan Balmer. He was assigned to the Air Force Office of Special Investigations, Detachment 113, Hill AFB. While deployed to Kirkuk Air Base, Iraq, Balmer was killed in the line of duty when a roadside bomb exploded next to his vehicle while conducting counterterrorism operations on June 5, 2007. He is survived by a wife and three children. Anyone with base access may participate. Charity golf tournament at Hubbard Memorial Course The Hill Council of Governments and Habitat for Humanity will hold its seventh annual Charity Golf Tournament on July 8. Format will be best ball scramble. Lunch is included in the $60 per person, $240 per team cost. Register by June 24. The tournament begins at 7:30 a.m. and will include raffles, longest drive, closest to pin and hole-in-one competition. For more information contact Lt. This is a two-year controlled non-deployable tour. Those interested in fulfilling the duty must meet the following criteria: • Applicants must possess rank of technical sergeant or staff sergeant, have a minimum of one year experience as a supervisor, possess leadership and mentorship capability, and not have any record of emotional instability, disciplinary actions or financial irresponsibility. • Applicants must possess ability to speak distinctly and to all levels of rank, possess high standards of military appearance and conduct. • Applicants must have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, supply, accounting, facility maintenance procedures and management of personnel. Staff sergeants and technical sergeants are eligible to apply, however they must not have an assignment pending. • Applicants must have two years retainability or be willing to extend to have a minimum of two years and NOT be receiving payment from a selective reenlistment bonus. • Although there are new skills to be gained as a dorm leader, the priority is the Airmen. The primary job is to interact with the youngest Airmen every day to improve their lives. This position is an opportunity to mentor young Airmen while ensuring they have the highest quality of living. Ensuring Airmen have a safe, clean and secure home is critical to morale and readiness. • Dorm leadership requires energetic, self-motivated individuals with a strong work ethic and the ability to take on a project and work autonomously. Good interpersonal skills are absolutely necessary in order to interact with all levels of leadership while advocating for and mentoring Airmen. In addition to providing assistance to Airmen in the dorms, dorm leaders also interact with first sergeants and leadership of all units address residents' concerns.
