Show Hilltop P Hill AFB, Utah 84056-5824 Mormon Tabernacle Choir military concert The Utah North Area Public Affairs Council of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints invites Team Hill civilian and military members to a private concert featuring the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra. The concert titled "One Voice Music of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir," will be Thursday, June 9, at 8:30 p.m at the LDS Conference Center in downtown Salt Lake City. This one-time private concert is a special event for Team Hill and other military-affiliated personnel in Utah. Free tickets are available through wing or unit protocol offices, 75th Air Base Wing Public Affairs, ITT office and the Ogden-Air Logistics Center Commander's Action Group on a first-come, first-served basis. Team Hill civilian and military members may obtain extra tickets for friends and extended family. However, it is strongly advised to take extra tickets only if you are committed to making full use of them by attending the event. Appropriate "Sunday best" dress standards are encouraged as well as a minimum age of 8 years old for admittance. Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month The Asian and Pacific Islander American Heritage celebration is a recognized holiday during the month of May. The national celebration commemorates Asian and Pacific Islander heritages, languages, cultures and communities. It is celebrated with government- sponsored activities, community events, festivals and educational activities. A luau will be held, June 1, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. to commemorate the APIA Heritage and the achievements, contributions and recognition of APIA communities. Menu: Kalua pork, teriyaki chicken, rice, macaroni salad, citrus green salad, rolls, drink, guava cake, crab and cream cheese wontons. Tickets pre-sold $10; tickets sold at luau - $12. As a command pilot, Long has put in more than 2,800 flying hours and held various leadership positions including the 455th Expeditionary Operations Group comCol. Morris as the directorate's senior materiel leader, as the former director, Brig. Gen. Richard Stapp, moves on to an assignment at the Pentagon. The ceremony, May 16, at the Hill Aerospace Museum, was officiated by Maj. Gen. Andrew Busch, Ogden Air Logistics Center commander. "I'm very excited about this opportunity," said Morris as he remarked on the back- drop and surroundings at the museum. He said it reminded him of another backdrop at another change of command ceremony in Kuwait where three Marines stood at attention throughout the ceremony in front of the remains of an MRAP, or Mine Resistant Ambush Protected, vehicle. Such a vehicle had saved their lives in an EOD incident. Last year the U.S. Air Force lost 15 Airmen due to automobile and other safety mishaps and the annual campaign gets off with an early morning push on May 23 this year. Gary Herbert signed a concurrent resolution of the Utah legislature last week honoring the state's TriCare network providers for their continued support to their military beneficiaries. The concurrent resolution, which was signed on May 11 in the Gold Room at the Utah State Capitol Building, recognizes the more than 4,400 network healthcare providers that care for nearly 70,000 Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines and Coast Guardsmen, their family members, and military retirees throughout the state.
