Show HILLTOP TIMES 4 TimEs November 18, 2010 Planning for 2010 federal benefits open season T he 2010 Federal Benefits Open Season for Health Insurance, Dental & Vision Insurance and Flexible Spending Accounts is scheduled from Nov. 8 through Dec. 13. Hill Air Force Base will hold a Health Fair with availability of health insurance carriers on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1-2 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Club Hill. Brochures and information on 2011 premiums will only be available at the Health Fair and at the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Web site at http:// www.opm.gov/insure/ when finalized for publication. The selection of insurance options and coverage required, such as medical appointments, surgery and prescriptions are normally based on individual or family needs. Therefore, it is highly recommended that research be conducted before making a final determination on the selection of insurance options and coverage. Some of the other incentives available that vary across health care plans that may be a factor in your decision include chiropractic care, acupuncture, massage therapy, substance abuse rehabilitation and mental health, family or individual counseling sessions. OPM's guides to Federal Benefits provide important summary information on Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB), Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program (FEDVIP), and Flexible Spending Account Program (FSAFEDS) programs. The guides are available on the OPM Web site at www.opm.gov/ insure/health/planinfo/ guides/index.asp. Select the right guide to Federal Benefits. Most federal civilians will review RI 70-1, but temporary employees will review RI 70-8. This Open Season will provide employees with the opportunity to • Enroll in a flexible spending account. • Enroll in, change, or cancel an existing enrollment in a dental or vision plan under the Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program (FEDVIP). • Enroll in, change, or cancel an existing enrollment in a health plan under the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program (FEHB). The Federal Insurance Program is administered food, including bratwursts, "Frito pie," grilled peppers and onions, complete with complimentary beverages. Attendees will also be able to sample a taste of various local restaurants' menu items and specialties. The tailgate party will also include remarks from leadership and a live DJ. "We're encouraging everyone to come out and celebrate our victory," Seachris said.
