Show HILLTOP TIMES See Me Save Me Ride, AADD adds program for the military back on for July 15 through Yellow Cab, effective July 2 4 TIMES July 1, 2010 T he See Me Save Me Awareness Rally, cancelled due to inclement, weather, has been rescheduled for July 15. All motorcyclists, on base and off, are invited to participate in this event, scheduled to stage on-base at 11 a.m. at the motorcycle training range near the South Gate and off-base at 11:15 a.m. at the Hill Aerospace Museum. The more riders there are the bigger the impact will be on the community in order to effectively demonstrate just how many motorcy- clists could be on the roads at any time. The ride will begin on base for those with base access at 11:30 a.m. with a 75th Security Forces Squadron escort. Once the riders on base meet up with the riders at the museum, the group will ride throughout local communities with police escort. The route will include Ogden, Roy, Sunset, Clearfield and Layton. Anyone joining in the ride from the base must get supervisor's approval for annual leave to participate. For questions, call the Hill Air Force Base Motorcycle Safety Program Manager Allan Woods at (801) 7773333, Extension 2. BY MARY LOU GORNY Hilltop Times editor A irmen Against Drunk Driving will activate the Last Resort Ride Home, or LRRH program, July 2. The program provides Airmen with a free and safe ride home using the Yellow Cab taxi company. "This will be an option, but it should be a last resort option," said Senior Airman, Zahira Martinez, AADD program manager. This should make it possible to use the service for more than 35 miles away from the base without fear of recrimination to get home safely. Last Resort Ride Home guidelines • The miltary member must inform the dispatcher they would like to use the Last Resort Ride Home program. • LRRH is a free ride for members outside the 35 mile coverage provided by AADD. • The person requesting the service must be an active duty military member. (Civilians can use the AADD program but not the LRRH program.) • There is no age limit. • The member may only be taken to his or her place of residence (not to be used for club hopping). • It may be a multiple drop off. However it is not to include more than two locations. (If it is more than two locations it will be at the members' own expense.) • Must provide full name (first and last) and complete phone number. Information is for the taxi cab driver so he can -• ensure he is picking up the correct member or members.
