student of the school now the football management of michigan has had bad to apologize and say how sorry it is tor for the actions ot of one off its players who had no right in the game under the intercollegiate ruiess on the strength of the good work he had done miller milter was elected cap tain of next year years s team and received the university al he ile has been shorn of both of these honors and a new leader is to be chosen announcement of the action taken against miller was vas made by prof george W patterson chairman of the board of control of athletics the question of miller s eligibility first came under the attention of dean cooley of the eng engineering de I 1 apartment part ment of the university aali miller ter was absent from ann arbor and a let lot ter requesting his appearance before the board in control brought no reply it was given out that miller appeared before the eligid lity committee dur ing the season and signed a statement that he was a bona fide student and eligible to pla on the team the action against m was taken upon the ground that while he had bad registered in the engineering depart ment he had not been enrolled in any classes until after the close of the football season when he induced sev eral pro proceso professors feso rs to accept his enroll ment tentatively with the understand ing that he would make up the work vork that he bad had
