Although the novel is a work of fiction, Mumford states that events similar to those found in the story actually took place. While this is Rex’s first novel, he has had his writing published in such publications as the Outdoor Life magazine. Rex and his wife Debbie also own franchises for four Arby’s restaurants in Utah and Idaho. In addition to frequent business trips to these locations, Rex enjoys traveling to all parts of the world. Of late, he spends much of his time in East Huntsville where he and his wife are building a new home. Rex and Debbie are the parents of five children. After graduating from Weber State College, Rex found that he loved the outdoors more than he liked sitting behind a desk. He began his own business and, today, works as a river outfitter and guide. His deep interest in western history has led him to read many accounts of those who settled the west. Around the nightly campfires along the riverbank, he often relates stories of the old west to his customers. Rex Mumford’s new book, The Lawless Land. The Lawless Land is available at Barnes and Noble bookstores, the Ogden Valley Library, and at Amazon.com.
