Although not residents of the Valley, we enjoy many weekends in its beautiful, peaceful surroundings. Perusing The OGDEN VALLEY NEWS is one of my favorite ways to relax and become more familiar with the residents of the Valley, and their struggles and triumphs. Thank you. Dave and Tonya Boswell, West Bountiful Texas Student Requests Information About Community Staff at The OGDEN VALLEY NEWS recently received this request from a student from Texas, and would like to invite the community to address his request! This is my friend Stanly. He was flattened one night when a bulletin board fell on him. Thankfully he wasn’t hurt. Now, because he is flat, he can easily travel through the mail. Please show him around your area, then mail some information and some items from your state. This will help my classmates and me learn more about the United States. Thank you for helping with this project. I had asked for support for our lawsuit “Citizens v. Rulon Jones and Weber County,” and received it from Weber Wildlife and many caring citizens, which was much appreciated. To have all five Utah Supreme Court judges rule in our favor was rewarding, and many said a miracle had taken place. Perhaps a second miracle happened the same day the 160-acre park sale to Rulon Jones was ruled null and void. It is described as follows. Returning home from being told the good news from the Supreme Court, I noticed my herd of horses running wildly across the hillside towards our home. The pasture roadway accesses the highway going to Wolf Creek with a gate at the end. Shockingly, the reason for this stampede by the horses was a 20-foot streamer with colored flags and a very large yellow helium filled balloon was flying high, attached to the last horse, and spooking the entire herd. I ran to the highway gate to prevent the horses from crashing through, but somehow, the balloon and streamer became unhooked from the horse and was now caught, and flying from the fence beside the house. This entire event has the makings of being a miracle, sent to help citizens celebrate their court victory. There was not one horse that could have been caught from the herd so the streamer could have been attached. Never having seen a balloon on our ranch before, or since, makes one wonder why this “balloon fest” took place on this special day. I’m still hoping someone will explain how and why the big yellow balloon did what it did. Until then, it appears to be another miracle! That evening, we tied the balloon, for everyone to enjoy, to the entrance of the Eden General Store where the community, friends, and family gathered to celebrate getting back the park and trail in Wolf Creek.
