Zeigler Hailey Sophia Zenger WEBER HIGH cont. from page 1 Two years ago WHS administered 366 AP tests, last year 438, this year 455. Two years ago WHS students earned scholarships valued at $735,000. Last year a new record for scholarships was set, valuing $1,336,000. Incredibly, this year the past year’s record was almost doubled when 161 seniors earned 305 scholarships worth $2,312,807! Out of seven 5A high schools in the region, WHS students garnered 58 Academic All Region awards, nearly twice the region average. WHS students also captured 22 Academic All State awards, almost three times the state aver age. The WHS wrestling team placed 1st in region, and 2nd in state—the best season in 30 years. The girls soccer team placed 3rd in state. The girls tennis team placed 4th in state. Girls swimming placed 2nd in region— the highest finish ever. The boys swimming team placed 2nd. Boys cross-country won City-County, and placed 2nd at region, and 3rd at state. Boys track placed 3rd at state. The WHS marching band won 1st place in its size category at the BYU invitational. The A Cappella Choir won sweepstakes at the Anaheim Heritage Music Festival held in California. Choir, band, and orchestra students earned 63 Superior ratings at the Region Solo and Ensemble Competition, and 57 Superiors were earned at state. 25 WHS students received superior ratings on the National German Exam. This was more than all of the other high schools in Utah combined! Drama students earned 30 superiors at region, and 19 superior ratings at state. The Warrior News, the WHS newspaper, received the 1st place award as the top high school newspaper from Amer, Scholastic Press Association. MESA finished 2nd in state out of 27 competing high schools. FBLA also finished 2nd in state. VICA dominated at region with Weber students capturing 27 of the 57 total medals awarded. DECA had 38 students finish 1st through 5th place at state, and 20 qualified for nationals. CNA, 100% passed during the last two year. WHS students also raised $23,500 for Quarters for Cans, and also donated to many other good causes. Congratulations Weber High Students.
