January 31 - February 1: The Eccles Community Art Center, 2580 Jefferson Avenue, Ogden will accept works for the 13th Annual Statewide Photographic Competition. Competition open to all photographers who live in the state of Utah. All photographic prints must be originals, completed within the last two years, and not have been previously exhibited in a juried exhibit sponsored by the Eccles Community Art Center. Accepted works will be exhibited in the Main and Second Floor Galleries during February and March. The call for entry will be available on-line after January 5 at www.ogden4arst.org. February 6: The Incorporation Feasibility Study Steering Committee will host a public meeting for the community on Thursday, February 6, at Snowcrest Jr. High. An open house will be held from 7:00 to 7:30 p.m., where Valley residents can visit with subcommittee members at different stations, and discuss the activities and progress of their various efforts. Refreshments will be served. The general public meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m., where the process of pursuing an incorpo- ration feasibility study will be further explained, and where residents can ask questions about the process. February 8: The Ogden Association of the Blind is sponsoring a demonstration of low-vision aids and Assistive Technology (AT) devices for individuals who are blind or with low-vision. The demonstration will be provided by the State of Utah Division of the Blind/Visually-Impaired. All low-vision aids and Assistive Technology (AT) will be available at cost. The demonstration will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Utah School for the Deaf and Blind at 742 Harrison Blvd., Ogden, Utah. The public is invited. Refreshments will be served. February 10: Family Reading Riot at the Ogden Valley Library: “Fractured Fairy Tales.” Our reading specialist will present family oriented activities and fun tips on keeping kids reading! February 11: Photographers with an interest in portraiture will enjoy an intermediate workshop with photographer Jon Williams on February 11, and 13 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., and February 15 from 10 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
