A reception was held in their honor at the Val A. Browning Center in Ogden. The bride is the daughter of Brent and Shauna Shaw of North Ogden. Parents of the bridegroom are Zane and Marilyn Froerer of Huntsville. Mr. & Mrs. Paul Richey Atkinson-Richey Jessica Ann Atkinson and Paul Wilson Richey were united in marriage Thursday, January 30 in the Bountiful LDS Temple. The bride is the daughter of Blaine and Jeanne Atkinson of Liberty. Parents of the bridegroom are Preston and Susan Richey of Pleasant View. The bride is a graduate of Weber High School and Weber State University, where she received her associate degree in general studies. She is continuing her education at WSU, where she is a dancer/cheerleader. She is employed at Utah Orthodontic Lab. The bridegroom is also a graduate of Weber High School. He served in the Columbia Barranquilla LDS Mission. He attends WSU and is employed at Froerer Real Estate. After a honeymoon in Orlando, Florida, the couple will live in Washington Terrace. The bride is a graduate of Weber High School and Weber State University where she received an Associates Degree in Nursing. She is employed as a registered nurse at McKay-Dee Hospital. Willard Lloyd “Bud” Willard is celebrated his 80th birthday. His family hosted an open house for friends and family on Monday, January 20, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Naylor’s Barn in Liberty. He was born January 20, 1923, in Liberty to Thomas and Emmaretta Atkinson Willard. He married Verena Allred on August 1, 1943, in Liberty, where they have lived their entire married life, nearly sixty years. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. He was educated in Weber County. He served in the Army during World War II in the Asiatic Pacific for two years. After the war, he was self employed and farmed for ten years. He retired from the Utah Department of Transportation after 20 years in 1985. His hobbies include working with leather, horses, and spending time with his family. His children and their spouses are Sharon and Frank Southwick, Jim and Carol Willard, Renae and the late Scott Willard, Sheila Gibson, and Lisa and the late Monte Willard. He has 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. The bridegroom is a graduate of Weber High School and served in the New Jersey Cherry Hill LDS Mission. He is employed at Williams International as a machinist. The bridegroom currently attends WSU majoring in Manufacturing Engineering. Elder Noah Steele from Ogden, Utah accepts 38 educational kits from Alex Brown. The kits were delivered to the LDS Mission in Mexico and will be used by a local under-privileged school. Alex Brown, son of Forrest and SuZan Brown of Huntsville, has earned his earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Alex is a member of Troop 248 of the Middle Fork LDS Ward. Gloria and husband Howard had retired to Pahrump, Nevada after residing in Eden, Utah for many years. Gloria retired after working 30 years with the I.R.S. Gloria never met a stranger. Evan as a child, she loved to chat with anyone and everyone. She was certainly in her element as an officer in the Huntsville American Legion Auxiliary. She worked with the committee on Girl’s State every year. All memorials will be designated to Girl’s State, and should be made to American Legion Post 129. They were involved in the cutter races and enjoyed horse racing for a lot of years. Her three dogs, Quee, Louie and J. R. were her pride and joy. Gloria is survived by her husband Howard; three sisters, Rosemary (Jack) Stoker, Sandra (Ira) Woitaszewski, and Jacque (Don) Denman; one brother, Richard Hayden; and many nieces and nephews. She will also be mourned by her “soul sister” Deby (Glen) Burton and Doris and Murry Rothenberger and countless friends. A very informal remembrance was held in her honor at the Huntsville American Legion on Friday, January 17 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. “May a flight of Angels sing our Sister home” LaMar Rogers, 86, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2003 at Mountain Ridge Assisted Living in South Ogden. He was born May 24, 1916 in Lewiston, Cache County, Utah, to Orson S. and Lizzie Lou Richeson Rogers. He married Johanna Elizabeth Gabler on November 22, 1940 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple by David O. McKay. She preceded him in death on February 8, 2001. He was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the LDS Church. He practiced medicine in Ogden for over 50 years. After his retirement he volunteered his services at St. Anne’s Shelter and the Bureau of Indian Affairs. He was past president of the Weber County Medical Association; a charter member of the Ogden Surgical Society; and past president of Utah Family Practice Association. He had been a member of Weber County Sheriff’s Mounted Posse and participated in two Pony Express Commemorative rides. He served as Grand Marshall of Ogden Pioneer Day Parade in 1989, and appeared in full Arab Regalia aboard one of his Arabian horses. He also organized the Ogden Arabian horse show. He was a member of Ogden Kiwanis Club with 50 years of service. Ogden Eagles Lodge, Utah Woodturners, Utah State Medical Society, and Golden Spike Gem and Mineral Society. |
