Among her landscapes on display are “Fenceline to Snowbasin,” “First Millennium Light, Ogden Valley,” “Peace on the Mountaintop,” “Pineview Icewater,” “Pineview Reflections,” “Snowbasin Sunset,” Snowbasin Comin’ Up Daisies,” “Snowbasin Icecrystals,” “Snowtracks on Pineview,” “Strawberry Views,” and breath-taking 42-inch panoramas, including “Ogden Valley Spring Rains” and “Ogden Valley Winter Walk.” Each landscape is ready for purchase and is custom framed by BC Frames of Ogden. Terri’s work focuses on Ogden Valley. “I’ve attempted to capture a small portion of the beauty in our Valley. This is nature at its best.” Her work in Nuclear Medicine plays a small roll in her photography because she says, “Shooting these local nature scenes provides an excellent stress release!” Chris Briscoe, Wolf Creek’s General Manager says, “These photos capture the ‘essence’ of Ogden Valley. We use them as soft marketing. Our guests love the pictures and in turn love the Wolf Creek community.” See Terri’s website at www.softcom.net/users/motojoe1 or email her at tboyce@softcom.net. She can be reached at 391-0765. Wilkerson Art Gallery Its Celebrates First Anniversary On November 29th and 30th, Wilkerson Fine Art celebrated its first year anniversary. Had owner Kris Wilkerson listened to the many words of advice that were given, solicited and unsolicited, she would never have opened and kept open the gallery here in Utahans think “Art Gallery” means beyond budget or expensive. With prices for excellent original works starting at well below the cost of a framed print, she says nothing could be further from the truth. The art investor can buy works by Olaf Seltzer, Sydney Laurence and Terri Boyce’s work “Ogden Valley Winter Walk.” Liberty Resident Wins National Championship On November 21, 2002, Kevin Bongard, 36, of Liberty won the “right hand only” GNC Pro Performance National Championship in New York City, New York. He has been undefeated in his last six competitions. Kevin has lived in Ogden Valley for the past seven years. He has been competing in Arm Wrestling for fifteen years. He has been in tournaments in Russia, Sweden, and South America. Kevin says he really enjoys the competition. “It is fun, challenging and exciting.” He explains that it isn’t about winning; it’s the camaraderie that is exciting. Arm wrestling is more tendons that big biceps. He works out three days each week and arm wrestles for three. An arm wrestling competition usually lasts about 30 seconds. The longest match lasted 4.5 minutes when he competed against Scott Eisenhauer in Las Vegas in 1994. Kevin’s next tournament will be held in Reno, Nevada in the middle of January, 2003. After September 11th, opening a new business, especially an art gallery in Huntsville, Utah seemed a bit risky. But President Bush urged us all to move forward, be unafraid, and live our lives. So what may appear to some as “crazy” seems absolutely perfect to owner Kris Wilkerson. Reflecting on Wilkerson Fine Art’s first year, Kris says that opening the gallery has brought many lessons that could not be learned any other way, including relationships that will last forever. When the gallery opened in November of 2001, the focus was on original 19th and 20th century paintings and glass, contemporary paintings and sculpture, and a smattering of local works. A year later the local artists are the feature and the focus. Says Wilkerson, “The talent here in Northern Utah is astounding.” Steve Johnson, Steve Songer, Bill Barber, Julie Brandt, Lynn Federspiel-Young, Ralph Keoppel and Glen Thompson are all right here in Ogden Valley. Robert Call, Jerry Hancock, Waldo Jensen live in Ogden, Doug Braithwaite lives in Sunset, Tim Giles is from Roy, and Judy Cooley lives in Layton. Although the talent is here, most of the art buyers are from outside the area. Wilkerson is unsure why, but says that after a year in business, local buyers have increased. Wilkerson laments that many Eustace Ziegler, and yes they cost thousands, but one can find excellent original paintings and sculpture for any budget. Although most works in the gallery are original, prints by the artists featured in the gallery are also available. Wilkerson Fine Art also provides art consultation to individuals as well as corporations. The gallery will provide Power Point presentations of various works of art in your home or office with no cost or obligation. These presentations allow clients to see different types of artwork in specific locations within their home or office. If clients are interested in a particular piece, Wilkerson Fine Art will hang the original in their home or office for a “trial period,” again at no cost, to ensure that they get exactly what they want. Wilkerson Fine Art also researches specific artists or artwork, educates clients as to art and interior design, and teaches beginning collectors how to get started and collect art as an investment. When talking of great art, one becomes accustomed to hearing of the galleries in New York City, Carmel California, and Scottsdale Arizona. Who knew that Huntsville, Utah in the Ogden Valley would be the next art Mecca.
