The Hermitage Grove Elizabeth Stewart remembers, “The Hermitage Grove was then very beautiful, we thought. There were swings and teeter-totters, and a number of concessions, including horse race games. There was also a Ferris Wheel in the park, and a Merry-go-round, which was most popular. We learned to fish in the pond, and to shoot a gun at the ducks that went round and round. “Tourists and families enjoyed the concessions, and bowery for picnics, using the Ogden Rapid Transit Trolleys for access.” Hermitage Grove was located in Ogden Canyon. The facility boasted a Boat Hose, ten changing rooms, six rental row boats, and gates in bridge. Note: Photos and information taken from the Weber County Heritage Foundation Historic Calendar (1995).
