Weston, son of Curtis and Darla Weston of Huntsville has been called to serve in the Sacramento California Mission. He will speak Sunday, May 13 at the Huntsville Stake Center, in the Middle Fork Ward at 12:45 p.m. Birthdays Cheney Virginia Cheney of Eden will celebrate her 80th birthday with a dinner at Gray Cliff Lodge Restaurant with her family. She was born April 7, 1921, in Beaver, Iowa, to Henry and Gertrude Tooley. She is the youngest of 13 children. On January 4, 1940, she married A. Lee Cheney, in the Mesa LDS Temple. Her children and their spouses are Terry and RaVae Cheney; Linda and Mike Gillespie; and Trent and Pam Cheney. She has eight grandchildren and 4 great- grandchildren. She was the postmaster in Redmesa, Colorado for over three years; worked at Hill Air Force Base for over nine years; and retired from the Forest Service in 1982, after 10 years of service. She has held positions in every organization of the church, and now does temple work every week. Her hobbies are spending time with family and friends, reading, and making quilts for her family and the needy. Obituaries Weddings Lowell Hislop Drebenstedt-Smyka — Chelsie, HUNTSVILLE - Lowell Roundy Hislop, 76, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2001, at his nephew’s home, of complications from surgery on an aneurysm. Lowell was born in Huntsville, Utah on January 3, 1925 a son of Charles Henry and Mable Roundy Hislop. As a veteran of World War II, he had served with the U.S. Navy. Lowell married Hazel Green on July 1, 1961, in Elko, Nevada. They divorced in January of 1970 but remained good friends. Lowell worked as a partner with his brothers Que, John, and Dean for several years, operating Superior Portrait Agency and retired from the Eagles Lodge 2472 as club manager after 28 years. Anyone would be very blessed to have made as many friends as Lowell has made in his life time. If you were having a bad day and went to visit with Lowell, you would be having a good day when you left that visit. He was a member of the American Legion Post 129, Baker Merrill Post 9, the International Footprint Assoc., the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1481, the F.O.E. 2472, and the LDS Church. He is survived by a son, Lawerence Roundy Hislop of Santa Maria, Calif.; a daughter, Danna Hislop of Tarzana, Calif.; one grandson, Dakota Gardner; three brothers, Que Hislop, Mesa, Arizona; Lemoyne Hislop, Provo, Utah; George Hislop, Oakland, Calif.; one sister, Jane Brubaker, Salt Lake City; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Curt, Lawerence, Fred, John, Dean, Wendle, and a sister Alice. Funeral services were held Thursday, April 12, at Leavitt’s Mortuary in Ogden. Military honors were conducted by Ogden Valley American Legion Post 129. Interment, Huntsville Cemetery. Lindsie, Jeremy, Stacey, Devin and Jeni and their boys Braxton and Andrew, would like to announce that Shelley Drebenstedt and Richard Smyka were wed Saturday, March 24 at Wolf Lodge in Eden, Utah. Linda Whetman served as maid-of-honor and Paul Flaig stood as best man. Following their honeymoon at Bear Lake, the couple will reside in Liberty. Shelley and Richard would like to thank all their friends and family who helped make the ceremony a wonderful celebration.
