Student Pathways Essays Pathways Will Cut Down On Pollution The Pathways Ogden Valley Pathway By Laird Doman Taylor Spendlove Student Essayist Student Essayist Tyler Christensen I think Ogden Valley Pathways is a very good idea because it is a lot safer for kids, hikers, and bikers to get around the Valley without being on the main road. There are lots of kids that are not allowed on the main road because it is too dangerous, so there aren’t very many places to ride bikes. The Pathways would be a good place for people to do that. Plus there won’t be a lot of noisy traffic around them so it will be a lot nicer. Some times you wonder, will they be safe on the road? Will they get hurt? Well, you might just be in luck with a new pathway. Many accidents are caused each year by cars on the road. This would be great to prevent this in Ogden Valley. There are more reasons than just safety, there is exercise and fun. Student Essayist On the weekend, there are lots of other people that are not from the Valley that come up to hike and ride bikes, and right now there are not very many places for them to use and it gets too crowded. When the Pathways come, there will be a lot more room to just explore and have fun. On this you could walk, bike, horseback ride, ski, or hike. This is a great way to exercise and have fun at the same time. If you like to walk in the morning or go on bike rides and enjoy the beauty of Ogden Valley, then you might be able to hop right in your shoes and go to the pathway. No vehicles are allowed on it. It’s safe, it’s fun and you could have a good time with the natural beauty of Ogden Valley. Subscriptions available for out of area residents at $15.00 annually. The reason for all this pollution is the many people who don’t want to spend five seconds of their life to throw away a bit of trash. You may say one little bit of trash doesn’t hurt, but if thousands of people throw even one gum wrapper on the ground that’s a big mess already cluttering the ground. Do you want that to happen to our Valley? Ogden Valley Pathways is creating a network of interconnected, multi-use, non-motorized pathways in the Valley. With these pathways being built it will cut down on pollution and keep our Valley as beautiful as always. Children are safer from traffic and other accidents off the road. It will keep the natural beauty of the Valley safer from car exhaust. Let’s keep our Valley safe! Friday, August 25th, at 2:30 p.m. in the Valley Elementary School gymnasium, interested parents, community members, and sixth graders will begin an experience “for a lifetime.” Notice it says “for a lifetime” and not “of a lifetime!” Valley sixth graders will see how academic, social, financial, physical, and emotional goals become the groundwork for a lifetime of success. They will become immersed in EconoMe! EconoMe is a project wherein students will create a currency, have a school job, earn and spend their EconoMe bucks as they learn about financial planning and so much more. Parents and community members are encouraged to participate with the students. Miss Davis County, Natalie Johnson. The program will feature Miss Davis County, Natalie Johnson. Natalie, one of the ten finalists for the Miss Utah 2000 pageant, will gear us up for the project with her jazz rendition of “Great Balls of Fire.” She will then speak about goals and what goalsetting has done for her. An accounting major at Brigham Young University, Natalie is especially interested in the EconoMe project and how it impacts finances through budgeting. She loves math and problem-solving. Natalie is as beautiful on the inside as she is outwardly. Her love of service and her desire to help our kids set high goals and achieve them brings her to Valley Elementary to share her talents and her story. We hope the community will feel welcome to join us in this outstanding project kick-off.
