Wannabe—Clinics for grown-ups allow “big kids” the opportunity to rub elbows with Olympic athletes and receive basic training in freestyle skiing aerials. Also, the Utah Olympic Park near Park City will host venue tours and a series of freestyle skiing aerial shows during the upcoming months. The following is a brief description and scheduled dates for SLOC-spon- sored youth and adult summer clinics. Interested individuals or groups can register or receive more information by contacting SLOC’s youth sport pro- on July 8, 15, and 22 and August 5 and 19 beginning at 10 a.m. A portion of the registration fee provides financial assistance to young athletes participating in SLOC youth sport development programs. Short Sport—Youth participate in a variety of winter sport simulations and activities, including freestyle aeri- grams at (801) 212-242]. Wheels To Winter—The program uses inline-skate technology to put wheels on sliding sports equipment. One-day clinics in luge, skeleton and bobsled are July 12-15 beginning at 10 a.m. at the Park City Mountain Resort. Tickets to the aerials show are $5 per person, and entrance to the park is $5 per vehicle. “A Healthier You 2002,” a community health initiative targeting adults 25 years and older, will sponsor a mini- mum of 20 Gold Medal Mile walks throughout the state. “A Healthier You 2002” 1s designed to improve the health of citizens by providing information, motivation, participation andincentives to begin and maintain healthy behaviors. Upcoming Gold Medal Mile walks include: June 17 in Provo, and June 24 in West Valley City.
