His mission farewell was held at the Eden 2 nd Ward on June 13. Elder Michael Ipson, son of David and Karen Ipson of Eden has been called to serve in the A rg e n t i n a Mendoza Mission. His mission farewell will be held on July 21st. Elder Sean Christensen, son of Bruce Christensen of Liberty and Lorna Christensen of Layton will serve in the Philippines Manila Mission. He spoke at the Oakridge Ward on June 20. Elder Scott R. Wangsgard, son of Ross and Neva Wangsgard, formerly of Huntsville now of Young Ward, served in the Minneapolis Mission. He spoke at Young Ward on June 20. Elder Jared Weaver, son of Steven and Suzanne Weaver of Liberty, served in the Mississippi Jackson Mission. He spoke in the Liberty 2nd Ward on June 27. Elder Robert E. Froerer and Sister Marilyn Froerer of Huntsville, served in the Mongolia Ulaanbaatar Mission. They spoke in the Huntsville 2nd Ward on July 11. Births David N and Ruth M. Jenkins of Huntsville had a baby girl on June 2nd. John (J.J.) and Colette Laub of Eden had 1 girl and 2 boys on June 30th. The triplets, Morgan, Mason, and Marcus weighed 1lb., 14 oz.; 3 lb., 4 oz.; and 3 lb., 7 oz. The triplets are gaining weight in the McKay Dee Hospital nursery ICU, hoping to arrive home sometime around the end of the month. Get your sleep while you can Mom and Dad! Jonathan and Kara Olsoe of Eden had a baby girl on June 26th. Steven and Kristen Wilson of Eden had a baby boy on June 30th. Rich D. and Shaunette Lewis of Eden had a baby boy on June 26th. Weddings Hirschi – Richardson Kate Hirschi, daughter of David and Deann Hirschi of Brigham City, and Thomas C. Richardson, son of James and Anna Richardson of Huntsville, were married in the Logan LDS Temple on Saturday. She is graduate of Box Elder High School and LDS Seminary. She attends Weber State University in the elementary education program. He is a 1994 graduate of Weber High School and LDS Seminary. He served an LDS mission in Connecticut. Following their marriage, they will make their home in Ogden, where they plan to continue their education. Story – Cardinal Drena Marie Story and Richard Medeiro Cardinal were married on Saturday, June 12, 1999. Her son, Harley Evan Sullivan, joined in the celebration. The bride is the daughter of Rhonda and Arny Olsen of Huntsville and Alan and Shirley Story, also of Huntsville. Mother of the bridegroom is Kimberly Ann Cardinal of Yakima, Wash. The ceremony and reception were held at the Weber County Mounted Sheriff’’ Posse House in Harrisville, with Bishop John Lund officiating. Bridesmaids were Brook Story, Tiffany Story and Stephanie Woodruff. Assuming responsibilities of groomsmen were Doug Story, Darrick Story and Butch Cullens. Performing duties of flower children and ring bearers were Harley Sullivan and Destri Story. She is employed by Greyhound Bus Depot and he is employed by Peter Piper Pizza. The bride is the daughter of Judy and Dick Sanders of Liberty. Parents of the bridegroom are L. Kay and Marilynn Gillespie of Ogden. The ceremony was held at the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Serving as maid of honor was Hallee Jo Sanders. Assuming the duties of best man was Adam Gillespie. The bride, a graduate of Weber High School, works for Wadman Corp. The bridegroom is a graduate of Bonneville High School and he attends Weber State University. He served in the Portugal Lisbon South LDS Mission. He is employed by America First Credit Union. The couple will live in Ogden. Brown – Sheley Dave Sheley and Diane Brown were married on May 10 th , 1999 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Diane Brown is the daughter of Christopher & Christine Brown. Dave Sheley is the son of Darryl & Mary Sue Sheley. Lee – Cox United in marriage on Saturday June 19, 1999, were Jenny Lee and Preston Joseph Cox. The bride is the daughter of Don and Gwen Lee. The bridegroom is the son of Barbara W. and John A. Cox Jr. of Huntsville. The ceremony was held in the Bountiful LDS Temple. Both are graduates of Weber High School. The bride is a graduate of the nursing program at Weber State University and is employed with Terrace Grove in Logan. The bridegroom served in the Canada Toronto East LDS Mission and plans to continue his education at Utah State University. The new Mr. and Mrs. Cox will reside in Logan. Obituaries Donal Lindsay Ferrin – I, Donal Lindsay Ferrin, was born Wednesday, June 13, 1923 at the family home in Eden, Utah. This family home was homesteaded in 1880. I was born of goodly parents, Arthur Moroni Ferrin and Janet Lindsay Ferrin. I attended Eden and Huntsville school, graduated from Weber High School and attended Weber State College. My working career began at Ogden Second Street Depot, from where I transferred to Pasco, Washington in 1942. In 1943, I was drafted into the Army, where I spent one and a half years in Texas where I attended Texas A & M University in Stephenville, Texas. One and a half years were spent in Europe from where I was discharged in 1946. I was employed at Hotel Utah for twenty years. I am a member of The Sons of the American Revolution, Sons and Daughters of the Pilgrims, and The Sons of Utah Pioneers. Uncle Donal is survived by two brothers, Clyde William and David (Elda); and many nieces and nephews, all of whom loved him dearly and have benefited from his love, service, and generosity. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Ada Lofgren and Marie Crandall; three brothers, Leonard, John, and George. Uncle Donal served many and was loved by many. He served the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the last few years as a stake missionary, High Priest Group Leader at the Salt Lake Home, and as a faithful home teacher. He died from the effects of a stroke, and we wish to thank his caregivers at the LDS Hospital in Slat Lake City for their thoughtful, sensitive, and skilled service. Internment, Eden Cemetery. Wilson Ammon Allen Huntsville – Wilson Ammon Allen, 82, passed away Monday, June 7, 1999 at home. He was born April 3, 1917 in Huntsville, Utah, the son of Daniel and Mary Ella Wilson Allen. He was reared in Huntsville, Utah. He graduated from high school attending Weber High and Heyburn High School in Idaho. He continued his education in Utah Law Enforcement training and with the Smithsonian Institute. On February 3, 1951 he married Donna Rhivers. Wilson was a member of the L.D.S. Huntsville 1st Ward. He was also a member of the Utah Peace Officers Association, Weber County Search and Rescue and various other civic organizations. Wilson enjoyed the outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing and camping. He is survived by his wife, Donna, Huntsville, Utah; three sons, Narl W. (Jolene) Allen, Liberty; Jeffrey (Carolynn) Allen, Whittier, Alaska; D. Brett (Laurie) Allen, Huntsville. He is also survived by one sister, Fawn (Vern) Bronson, Huntsville; 14 grandchildren and 11 greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
