Our firecracker has been inspiring loved ones for 90 years. Born on the 4th of LaVon Thompson July 1926, in Liberty, Utah to Mary and John Montgomery, she is the fifth of six children. She married Billie Thompson October 19, 1943. From then she dedicated her life to being the best mother to eight beautiful children: Joann Thompson (deceased), Diane Hawkins (deceased) Sherm?, Verna Facer (Larry), Karen DeLoss Doc Eggleston An open house celebrating the 90th Birthday of DeLoss Doc Eggleston was held Saturday, July 9, 2016 at the Lorin Farr 3rd Ward building, 1570 E. 1300 S. in Ogden. was born July DeLoss Eggleston 10, Doc 1926, the youngest of eight children of Joseph S. Eggleston and Talitha Cuma Cheney, and was raised in Eden, Utah. He graduated from high school in El Monte, California in 1944. He was drafted into the U. S. Army and served in Europe during World War II. After the War, he served an LDS Mission in France. He received an Associate Degree from Weber College and a Thompson, Brent Thompson (Karen), Mary Beus, Tami Snider (Earl), and Joan Dailey (Troy). She has 19 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Her youthful spirit, witty humor, and compassionate soul continues to be a role model for her family. Her talent for igniting a creative mind has taught many generations the art of painting, quilting, gardening and the importance of humility. In recognition of her youth and excellence, we wish to invite family and friends to celebrate 90 years of greatness. They also owned and operated Hyland House Carpet and Furniture, Tami’s Apparel, and Rentals & Real Estate, managing several commercial and residential properties. Clarence valued education and improving himself and his craft. He attended BYU, Weber State, State of Utah, and Superior Beauty College. He belonged to the Ogden Chamber of Commerce, the Utah and National Proprietary Colleges, a number of cosmetology associations, and was a member of the Naccas Review Shaw, May 17, 1982. Together they had five children: Obie Eugene Shaw, Sheila (Luis) Torres, Johnnett (Sean) Robinson, LaMont (Marla) Bailey, and Carrie (Kyle) Williamson; seventeen grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Also left behind are her three beloved puppies: Shaunee, Skooter, and Chloe. Betty was a joyful, kind, and generous soul. She loved life and family gatherings. Per her wishes, family and friends were invited to gather for a celebration of her life June 26, 2016 at the Eagles Campground, 10505 Hwy 39, Huntsville, Utah. Clarence was a member of The Church of Latter-day Saints, serving as a High Priest at the time of his death. He was an active man, exercising daily and often could be found on a roof maintaining their many properties. He spent summers coaching his kids in sports. He loved working in his garden growing beautiful roses and yummy strawberries for his grandchildren to eat. He loved to travel and with his wife; they visited Europe, Mexico, Hawaii, and most of the United States. He enjoyed golfing and bowling. He was once president of the Hill Top Bowling Association and a member of The Board of Utah’s Bowling Association. Most of all, Clarence was a family man. He loved his wife and family, especially all of his grandchildren who he told many of his life experiences to. Clarence is survived by his wife, Rita, of Roy; sons Jeffery Hyrum Painter of Huntsville; Doug Clarence Painter of Clearfield; Rodney James Painter of Roy; daughter Tamara P. (Tom) McCowen of West Haven; 14 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Eleanor Painter; and his beloved pets Buffy and Lucky. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Leslie, Jack, William Drew, Virgil, and Darrel; three sisters, Baby Painter, Cleo Simpson, and Belva Vannatter; and great-grandchildren Amina Bantigue and Corbin McCowen. The family would like to thank Dr. Jeffery Cala and Dr. Yuri Khodakov for their assistance. Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
