Valley elementary PTo Featured Non-Profit Valley Elementary PTO is a local organization with no ties to any national or state organization, allowing 100% of funds raised by our organization to be used to support activities at Valley Elementary. The PTO is a group of engaged parents whose goal is to provide teachers with the financial and organizational support they need to implement their unique ideas for improving students’ learning. During the Amazing Raise campaign for 2013, Valley PTO raised over $8,000. This was matched by CFOV for an additional $5,000, for a total of over $13,000. The money was used to support the Spelling Bee, Expressions Art Contest, Teacher Appreciation Week, Reading Month, Book Fairs, Math and Science manipulatives, $800 to $1000 grade grants, and the wildly successful Science Day. Due to the overwhelming success of the Science Day program that was held on April 8, 2014, the PTO is excited to sponsor the event again next school year. Science Day encompasses an entire academic day for all students K thru 6th where they receive detailed instruction in various fields of science. This year, each student could choose from over 20 classes or assemblies to learn about beekeeping, soil and water purification, the future of electric cars, and the physics of helicopters, to name a few. Science Day is an extraordinary event that introduces students to specialists in their fields through instruction and unique hands-on activities.
