Thousands Expected to Attend 29th Annual Martin Harris Pageant Thousands are expected to attend the 29th annual Martin Harris Pageant in Clarkston, Utah from August 2-6 and 9-13, as producers debut new innovative staging and improved lighting that have been planned for years and were produced by a Lindon, Utah-based company. “The new set includes a multi-level stage with backdrop of cabin and other buildings” said Don Jeppesen, pageant president. “It’s very different than the painted façade we’ve used in years past.” Sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the pageant is performed in the Clarkston amphitheater, 11000 N. 8400 W., adjacent to the cemetery where Martin Harris was laid to rest in 1875. The pageant, first performed in 1982, currently has a volunteer cast of 85 and a dozen crew members who are drawn from all over Cache and Box Elder counties and neighboring areas in Idaho. “Produced in the tiny community of Clarkston, which has neither grocery store nor a gas station, the community steps up in a big way,” said Jeppesen. “We even have two cast members who have been involved since the beginning.” Admission to the pageant, which begins at 8:30 p.m. is free, but reservations are required and seating is limited. Pre-show games and entertainment begin at 7:15 p.m. Call 801570-0080 or 1-866-537-8457 for reservations. Phone lines are open Monday thru Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. mountain daylight time.
