Meet in the Visitor’s Center. Scout Saturdays - Saturday, January 15, 9:00 to 11:45 a.m. Scout Saturdays will be held the third Saturday of every month starting in January. Three different sessions will be offered, each lasting 45 minutes. Programs are designed to help scouts fulfill their merit badge requirements. Reservations are required. Please call 801-621-7595 to make a reservation. Cost, $5 per scout, per session; one leader in uniform per group is free. General admission rates apply to siblings and additional adults. Session 1 - 9:00 - 9:45 a.m., Native vs. Invasive. Filling a requirement for the naturalist badge, we will help your scouts identify ten native plants/animals and non-native species. Session 2 - 10:00 - 10:45 a.m., Conservation. Find out what conservation officers do, why they are necessary, the role they played in history, and how to become a conservation officer. Session 3 - 11:00 - 11:45 a.m., Venomous Reptiles. Learn how to tell the difference between a venomous and non-venomous species with an up-close encounter with a live snake. With the help of Des Ta Te our bald eagle, we’ll discuss how eagles survive the winter and learn about local places eagles call home. Preschool Discovery Days - Snowball! Snowfall!
